The result is decidedly less than the sum of its parts.

It all feels crafted at the table, aiming for chart success (which, incidentally, did not happen).

Le Orme returned in 1990 after eight years with an album of unreleased tracks produced by notable figures. Despite the talented team and band members, the album lacks identity and inspiration. Some moments of refinement emerge, but overall it feels crafted for commercial appeal and fails to capture the band's experimental essence. This was Tony Pagliuca's last album with the band, with Michele Bon beginning his tenure. Explore Le Orme’s 1990 album and discover the final chapter of Tony Pagliuca's era.

The beginning is striking, with the beautiful single "Stringimi" where Carlo Marrale’s guitar returns to "roar," powerfully supported by a spine-tingling vocal crescendo from Antonella.

The lyrics are curated by bassist Aldo Stellita, always elegant and evocative.

Matia Bazar's 'Red Corner' reflects fifteen years of evolving style with less experimentation and pervasive melancholy. Standout tracks include 'Stringimi' featuring powerful vocals and guitar, and the duet 'Cuba.' While some songs feel overly affected, the album offers evocative lyrics by Aldo Stellita and a blend of rock and retro atmospheres. Discover the evocative blend of melancholy and rock in Matia Bazar’s 'Red Corner'—listen now and experience their musical journey.

Miro Sassolini’s singing has absolutely not lost any brilliance over the years, if anything, it has perhaps even improved with more refined and eclectic tones.

These latter songs have a wonderfully retro structure, with many new wave reminiscences, but more baroque and varied compared to the Diaframma period.

After departing Diaframma, Miro Sassolini pursued diverse artistic directions, producing excellent tracks both solo and with Van Der Bosch. Abel De La Rue showcases a retro new wave style enriched with keyboards and eclectic vocals. Though unpublished for years, the album reveals matured, refined tones and varied compositions. Standout tracks include the dramatic 'Pack', spirited 'Rafrail', and funky 'Iguana'. Listen to Abel De La Rue and experience Miro Sassolini’s timeless new wave mastery today!

It aligns more closely with 'Edward Scissorhands.'

The screenplay handles duality and masks with intelligence and originality.

Batman Returns, directed by Tim Burton, delivers a darker and more personal follow-up to its predecessor. The film shines with its gothic aesthetic, compelling themes of solitude and diversity, and a well-cast trio of villains. While the story occasionally slows, its visual creativity and soundtrack elevate the experience. Explore the dark and whimsical world of Batman Returns—watch the film and experience Tim Burton's unique take on Gotham's heroes and villains!

In the title track, forty years of Italian history unfold, balancing between autobiography and collective memory, marred only by a slightly overly verbose text.

‘L'altra parte del mondo’ is a jewel of epic melancholy like only Dalla can create.

Lucio Dalla's 1983 marks a turn toward eclecticism and new directions in his music and lyrics. Although not as consistently strong as earlier works, it features two standout tracks that blend personal and collective history with deep melancholy. Some songs feel familiar or overly introspective, but the album deserves a second look for its creativity and courage. It reflects a pivotal moment where Dalla sought to refresh his artistic path. Discover Lucio Dalla's 1983—listen now and explore his bold musical journey!

Federico Fiumani manages to turn necessity into virtue, releasing another small masterpiece oblivious to trends, timeless, and therefore even greater.

The title track is one of the most beautiful songs written by him with an evocative and melancholic text like few others.

Diaframma’s album ‘Tre Volte Lacrime’ follows their debut with a fresh melodic approach while retaining some darker tones. Despite struggles with promotion and band member departures, Federico Fiumani crafted a timeless and emotionally evocative record. The album introduces the new 'fiumano' style and includes standout songs like the title track and 'Marisa Allasio.' Miro Sassolini’s distinctive tenor voice elevates the songs’ emotional depth. Listen to Diaframma’s ‘Tre Volte Lacrime’ and experience a timeless blend of melody and emotion.

The album reveals less flashy qualities compared to the debut record, but not any less solid for that.

The overall level is undoubtedly high, blending Mediterranean timbres with folk and medieval dance hints.

Per Un Amico is PFM's second album, showcasing a mature and cohesive prog rock sound with Mediterranean and folk elements. It departs from heavier influences like King Crimson, creating a warm, unique atmosphere. Key tracks include the evocative title track and Il banchetto, featuring excellent instrumentals by Flavio Premoli. The only minor downside is the undefined lead vocal, which slightly affects song identity. Explore the rich textures and melodies of PFM's Per Un Amico — a cornerstone of Italian progressive rock!

It is an excellent debut, which already outlines the characteristics of the early Litfiba, epic and decadent.

The songs do not lose their power when detached from the context in which they were created.

Eneide Di Krypton is Litfiba's first official album, serving as the soundtrack for the theatrical show by Krypton group. Mostly instrumental, it showcases dark, dissonant sounds crafted by Antonio Aiazzi and Gianni Maroccolo. The album captures the epic and decadent style of early Litfiba with influences from Joy Division, Cure, and Ultravox. Key tracks like 'Incontro d’amore' and 'Il canto dei latini' stand out. A 1990 CD reissue was unauthorized and subsequently withdrawn. Listen to Litfiba's haunting instrumental debut and explore the roots of their epic sound.

Pelù also manages to sing better; he may no longer growl as he once did, but at least he achieves a commendable sobriety.

The excellent psychedelic ballad 'Anche a piedi' is characterized by a beautiful instrumental ending, very evocative.

Piero Pelù's third solo album 'Soggetti Smarriti' shows significant improvement from his previous works. The blend of melodic rock and subtle electronics allows a fresh and breathable sound. Noteworthy tracks include 'Prendimi così' and 'Dea Musica,' while the psychedelic ballad 'Anche a piedi' stands out. Pelù's vocal delivery is more sober and controlled, marking a positive musical evolution. Discover the evolving sound of Piero Pelù in 'Soggetti Smarriti'—listen now and experience his melodic rock revival!

Claudio Rocchi does not make us regret his previous works and the lyrics are also very inspired, imbued with serenity and meditation.

‘L’umana nostalgia’ featuring Alice, perhaps the most beautiful track on the album.

After more than a decade, Claudio Rocchi returns strongly with an album that satisfies expectations. Well supported by notable guests and modern production, the album blends rock with acoustic and experimental elements. The lyrics are thoughtful and serene, with standout tracks like 'Tutto passa', 'L'umana nostalgia' featuring Alice, and 'Fuoco'. Overall, Rocchi's new work honors his past while exploring fresh sounds. Discover Claudio Rocchi's inspired return—listen to his new album and explore its rich collaborations and sounds today!
