I resurface from the goose neck of the toilet to say that I’m seriously thinking about not renewing Netflix. It's been months since I’ve watched anything on it, except for cartoons for my kids and some scraps. Every now and then, I get notifications from the app: "56 new series for you in December." I’d settle for just 5 decent ones. I don’t know, it all seems like a pretty decent mess to me. Latest views: Peaky Blinders (seems quite nice, but I don't have the time), Sons of Anarchy (raw, but for turning off the brain it shouldn’t be too bad). Two recommendations for comic fans: on Netflix, you’ll find Batman Ninja (a thoroughly surreal thing that I still haven’t figured out who thought of it, so deliberately gaudy, kitsch, and over the top that – especially for those from the giant robot generation – it ends up being fun. I honestly wonder how they managed to find a producer, but I’d say that’s not my business). Lock & Key: I just started watching the series on Netflix and I have to say it didn’t blow me away. Instead, I recommend the comic: it’s only 5 paperback volumes (should be about 10-15 euros each) and it’s written by Joe Hill (Stephen King's most talented son). Best horror story I’ve read in a long time. I didn’t know him (despite winning all the awards in the world), I devoured it in a flash and I highly recommend it #geenoomerda.

I finished watching the second season of Westworld. Obviously worse than the first. What a shame. So, stream of consciousness: Teddy is the most unbelievable ruthlessly killer in television history, the time loops are there just as fan service and only to try to add a bit more depth to the story, it’s evident that at several points Nolan and Joy had too much soda and tried to serve us some crazy nonsense, the absolutely avoidable detour to shogunworld (and frankly, can we not say how annoying it is?!?!!?), I did like the episode about the ghost Indian in love, Ed Harris is still super cool and I’d want him as a rich uncle, too bad because in the first season there were more boobs, dialogues in really too many frankly embarrassing exchanges (but I fear there might have been some adaptation issues. Example: the word "fedeltà" is not wrong as a translation, but it doesn’t carry all the meanings of "fidelity" (I even found a topic on reddit regarding this)). But above all, I didn’t understand how many "soldiers" there are (you know, the ones with the scarf on their face) of Dolores... at first, they seem like 50, then a ton of them die and it looks like there are about 10 left, then they come out of the walls... I’m not saying it was crap, actually, a #geenoomerda, but I definitely didn’t like it as much as the first one.

I don’t know if this thing with listening groups (to talk about stuff you see) still works, but since I’m logged in now, why not. Since my last comment, I’ve watched the other two seasons of The Leftovers: I’m really happy with that. It wasn’t easy because it’s a very slow series with some difficult passages, but my final judgment is definitely positive. I’m not sure who might like it and, frankly, I don’t know if I feel like recommending it, but personally, I’m glad I watched it. I also watched the second season of 13 Reasons Why: pretty much a mess. The moderate interest that the first season had sparked in me was replaced by a huge, gigantic, gargantuan “I-really-don’t-give-a-flying-fuck- about-these-privileged-kids.” I watched three quarters of the episodes with my finger on the fast forward button. Next weekend, however, I’m starting the second season of Westworld and I really hope they haven’t ruined that one too because I really care that it doesn’t get messed up. I also watched Disincanto, but I’ll go write about that on the other side where they talk about cartoons. Now and forever #geenoomerda

Hello dear ones. I hope you are all doing well. I'm so-so, but there are some who are worse off. I rarely think of you, because I think quite a bit about other things, but when I do, I only think of nice things and I miss you a little. The only thing I feel like saying on the topic of this group is that La Casa De Papel is a real piece of crap and I really don’t understand how it succeeded outside of Spain. Plus, after months of procrastination, I finally watched the first season of The Leftovers and I liked it (a bit demanding, huh, but by the time I reached the last episode, I felt very satisfied). Be good and don’t forget the verb of #genoomerda.

Two little stones (as usual very late, but I have my own timing...), let's see what the pond thinks. 1) The White Pope: damn, what a bore... I still haven't found the motivation to watch the third episode. Thirteen reasons why: a bit gay, a bit of nonsense, but entertaining. If it were autumn, it would be perfect to binge-watch in one go, on a Sunday afternoon, under the duvet.

Update on my latest viewings. Psycho Pass - season two: still very nice, but definitely inferior to the first one (which remains one of the most beautiful Japanese series I've seen in recent years, especially in the second half, if only because people die in terrible ways). Psycho Pass - the movie: unfortunately, I found it a bit boring... Psycho Pass - the flamethrower: kids will love it. The Boy and The Beast: an anime from the studio Madhouse (the same one, just to clarify, as Summer Wars), cute, quite entertaining, but ultimately harmless and skippable. I just realized I need to pee right now. I'll continue in a few minutes...

I would like to point out that on the Yamato Animation YouTube channel, all episodes of Terror in Resonance are available, directed by the previously mentioned Watanabe (the one from Cowboy Bebop). Nothing exceptional, to be honest: the initial premise is intriguing, but by the eighth episode, it shifts into a sort of Death Note, with the two quirky geniuses challenging each other. There's nothing really wrong with it. And nothing that truly makes you want to watch it. But there are only 12 episodes (I've watched nine...) and the final balance is not even too bad. Same with paracetamol: I hadn’t caught a flu this bad in at least 10 years. I've been stuck in bed since Tuesday. By now, all that’s left of my study will be the rubble and the bills to pay... in return, I’ve managed to watch: almost the entire first season of Narcos (which starts off really well, but then I find it becomes almost unbearably boring...), the first two episodes of Westworld (which kicks off quite well, using some not-at-all original ideas in a very intriguing way, but there’s a smell of a bullshit twist like Lost lurking just around the corner), but above all Marvel's Daredevil (the first six episodes) which doesn’t have much superhero action and is instead a nice gothic series full of beatings. Recommended.

Stranger Things downloaded, watched, and enjoyed. I can't help but agree with what Pixies writes (they could have at least tried to throw in an idea that’s even vaguely original, but maybe it would have clashed with the calligraphic/celebratory approach). At least they had the intelligence to keep it to just eight episodes and not unnecessarily stretch it out. I was even thinking of writing a review, but the August laziness has so far prevented me from doing so. I’ll note down The Get Down, hoping to find it somewhere. As for the rest, I’ve been recommended The Leftovers (in the "procurement" stage) and Fortitude. I’ve watched two episodes of the latter, but I have to admit it really bored me and I dropped it about a month ago.

I have HoC there to watch, but I never feel like starting it. Then I already know it will end up like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, where I start watching them half-heartedly and within a couple of days I'm talking like I'm a Lannister by surname. Rather: forced by my better half, last night I rewatched the first episode of Dr. House... sweet mother: it looks like it was shot in 1983 by Renè Ferretti! So cheesy, all the actors styled terribly and dressed even worse. And above all, with a rhythm like an amateur video at a confirmation, that at one point I fell asleep and when I woke up I was already writing this comment and in the bathroom I found the inscription "Welcome to retro-vulvar fibrocystic vasculitis"...
