Another example, IMO, of an extremely famous but really ugly cover that I've never understood what the hell it has to do with anything. Well, for me, the first albums by STP are all pretty ugly, but this one takes the prize.

I have a lot of love for the Clash but I've never understood this one. A backlit photo (even though they later brightened the faces in the foreground), asymmetrical, with that damn gray frame that looks like a collection of Dick Dick and Strummer winking (MASSONE!!!!11!1111!).

If I had the desire and specific know-how, I would dig a little into the beauties of the covers medd aaaal.
As the cold sets in, I recommend checking out the photos in the booklets of battles in the North and At the Heart of Winter by the immortal mittlcci Immortal.
While they have almost decent covers, they provide moments of great hilarity.
Some plastic poses of demonaz and Horg's belly are legendary.
