The 3rd and the Mortal Memoirs
Voto:
Well written, it still stays a bit on the surface, however. Of theirs, I loved "Tears Laid in Earth" from the first to the last note; I found it mesmerizing, but apart from that album nothing else convinced me, perhaps because the underlying melodies are not as beautiful, and for me, if there's a lack of substance, all the arrangements in the world won't make up for it. Goodbye, taxi passenger.
Satyrian Eternitas

So. Recently listening to "Sacred Lies," which I like, I came to Debaser to learn more about the band. What do I find? The dear old lovelorn who kindly informs so many people about my favorite genre. And what does he say about Satyrian? Pest and horns, but with a vehemence, a verve, an eloquence, and an underlying knowledge that makes one think "hats off!" Dear LL, you should be a lawyer, nothing less! You would crush your opponents, make them black and blue, hehe! Anyway, I went to listen to other tracks by Satyrian and indeed found that the other songs are dreadful. However, "Sacred Lies" still continues to please me, her voice anxious enough, the catchy, even sticky chorus, the lively keyboards, the underlying melody. It's not the first time I've liked a song by a band and then found great disappointment when searching for more, and a love is nipped in the bud. C'est la vie!

Let’s say your opinion on the matter reaches the reader. Message received and understood. In short, it's over, symphonic metal is dying and no historic band is creating anything worthwhile, we’re all left reminiscing about the past (which, by the way, for me began a few years ago and not in the nineties; I arrived late, but ultimately, who cares). Is it over? Is it really over? Tell me it’s not!!!!!!
In The Woods... Heart of the Ages

"Mourning the Death of Aase" is one of the most incredible and unique songs I’ve ever heard; the vocalizations are extraordinary, and the rhythmic cadence (a blues, am I right? Alternated with a different tempo) is hypnotic. At first, I didn’t know what to think, but then it hooked me, and I listened to it a myriad of times, enduring the complaints of my husband and daughter, blasting it alone at full volume, eheheheh pure bliss! After that, I didn’t seek out anything else from them, but I will remedy that immediately, starting from the recommendations in this review. It’s true that when doom is too doom-y it dulls me, as they say in Rome, but maybe there’s another gem waiting for me… gosh, how much one has to "work" to find good music, but hey, it’s worth it. The review is thorough and well-crafted both stylistically and in terms of content; perhaps, as you've been told, a tad detached, but I’m glad you’re back, because lately there have been few reviews of bands that interest me. Bye bye!
The 3rd and the Mortal Sorrow

Uhm... you’re starting to grow on me, dear taxi driver. "Tears Laid in Earth" is one of the best CDs I own, one of those that gave me great satisfaction, worthy of the 20 euros, with not a single note out of place, featuring a Kari "otherworldly" who is a wonder. "Why so Lonely," what a beauty!!! Music that has taken me far, far away more than once, to places that are not so clear, but then again, who can exactly explain the effect of good music? Unfortunately, so far I have found the rest of the 3rd's production heavy. Now you tell me about this EP of which I only know Sorrow (which I find beautiful but not fantastic), and I’ll download the other tracks for a few cents, I’ll let you know. Gasta, I must say "From which pulpit, etc. etc." regarding your criticisms of taxirider's Italian, because, like many others, you also write "centra" and "centrano" instead of "c'entra" and "c'entrano", meaning "enters there, enter there" and not the verb form of centrare, meaning to hit the center (e.g., the player hit the basket). End of lesson.

No, no, Hell, it's not like that: Simone Simons (or "the goddess") of Epica proves the opposite. If I were a man, I would fall in love with her immediately.

Yes, yes, exactly what I've been thinking over the last few months...one disappointment after another, including the latest from Sirenia in my opinion. What a sadness! Is it really over? This is the only genre I like, along with dark melodic music, medieval or not, what will I do for the rest of my days? (My husband says I should have become a dramatic actress)

Another great recommendation, memy! New album, I suppose. My experience with them is mixed; I definitely like the album "Kissed by an Angel," all great tracks, "Become Become" being my favorite. However, I wouldn't describe them as dark; it seems to me they've also composed for the reikiani or something similar, trends that are very far from me.
But why don't these (low-cost) download sites hurry up to get the new CDs? I have to wait for this as well, sigh.
Bye bye memy, beautiful review, as usual.
Albireon I Passi di Liù

The compliments for the review are implicit in the rating...great recommendation, I’ll try to get the CD. I know the Albireon, who have found their place in my collection with beautiful pieces like Ala di Falena, Il volo insonne, Danza del risveglio, which never tire me, delicate and original. Welcome back m&m!
