24 Grana Metaversus

better than at the top of the Neapolitan scene! In Italy, they are among the best (and my favorites)

I'm sorry I sent it twice and I even forgot to vote.. what a fool! I'll fix it right away (for the album, I'd give it 5000, not just 5).

nadir and kosmogabri, I am 101% in agreement with you. I’ve been following the 24 since "metaversus," and I can say - as much as my opinion is worth - that they are Great. The maturation from "metaversus" to "k-album" is more than extraordinary, considering how much time has passed between the two albums, a year and a half? The lyrics, the clarity of sound, the composition of the tracks, the melodies... the greatest sin is that they are so little known. The last concert of theirs I attended, a few months ago at the Auditorium Flog in Florence, was painful for me: such a GREAT band playing in a half-empty venue, and among the people who were there, less than half were actually following the concert, while the rest lingered at the edges, distracted. Meanwhile, I was enjoying the old and new tracks, lulled by the sweet "il gattone" and hyped by "la cascia"!

x kosmogabri: know that for me Billie Holiday is the greatest of jazz, a sublime musician of her own voice. But in (There is) No Greater Love, believe me, Amy resembles her, not so much in intensity and class, etc., but in the way she modulates her voice... it amazed me. Of course, one must listen live to put an exclamation point on the discussion.

Fiona Apple When The Pawn...

Aggressive lyrics like these drive me crazy!
"I let the beast in too soon, I don't know
how to live
Without my hand on his throat; I fight him always & still
I may be soft in your palm but I'll soon grow
Hungry for a fight, and I will not let you win
-Fast as you can, baby scratch me out,
free yourself
Fast as you can."

The review would be almost perfect if there were more attention to the lyrics: at least as far as I'm concerned, in this second album of Fiona's, the lyrics are intelligent, original, and deep, as Petro hints, dramatic. For example, I completely agree with Fiona in 'Paper Bag' when she has the COURAGE to say 'hunger hurts but starving works when it costs too much to love'… what a contrast to the pathetic lyrics 'oh how I love you - stay with me forever - hold me - don’t leave me', right?
