Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York

very overrated album

If someone had stepped outside for a little stroll away from the concert area (on the street leading to the gates) around 8:30 PM, just as the Tool were starting, they might have run into good old Trent: some people met him (and even had a little chat) while he wandered a bit lost among the stalls of the Festa dell'Unità...

exceptional evening but completely useless afternoon: Billy Talent, Hot Hot Heat, and Maximo Park were ridiculous, they could have spared us; an excellent performance by Tool (the third for me), even though I’m getting tired of hearing them play the same old songs. Instead, Nine Inch Nails were absolutely amazing, I was there mainly for them and they did not disappoint! The setlist was practically perfect and the concert unforgettable, complete with special effects that made Tool's green lasers disappear; and they even played "Dead Souls"!

beautiful review; I really like the cover of "Physical" that's on Broken by Nine Inch Nails (in '95 NIN also did some concerts with Adam Ant, their fan)
Alejandro Jodorowsky El Topo
Voto:
jodorowsky visionary genius
Takashi Miike Visitor Q
Voto:
I prefer Audition and Ichi, although Visitor Q is one of those films that everyone should see at least once... they gave me "The Happiness of the Katakuris" by Miike, which I haven't seen yet but I've heard great things about.

The mechanic sodomized you with the jack because you were wearing white bermuda shorts and Superga sneakers?
Bikini Kill Bikini Kill (EP)
Voto:
unlistenable
L7 Hungry for Stink
Voto:
In my opinion, this is one of their least successful albums, definitely too grunge. Andres, The Bomb, and Can I Run are nice tracks, but the true masterpieces of L7 are on other albums (L7, Bricks Are Heavy, and The Beauty Process). I saw them live about ten years ago, and they are devastating on stage.
Elastica Elastica

It's been at least 10 years since I last heard about them; I had completely forgotten about this little group. They always made me think of a britpop imitation of the Breeders (now that's a great band), but with much less imagination and energy.
