ohoh, I am not one to resort to mind-altering substances, especially when I'm home alone listening to a record. I simply read a fair amount of interviews with Pete Kember and Jason Pierce, and apparently the crux of their inspiration, or at least their means of elevation, is precisely drugs and not the elevator. Three quarters of their lyrics are about that. Regarding their live performances, they claim to have had spectators that we humans could not even imagine, the kind that leaves you with a slack jaw. From this, I’ve drawn my conclusions... ultimately, oh remarkable wreck, my answer is a somewhat unconvinced yes. However, listening to it at a volume entirely harsh on the eardrums, I believe one can get a faint idea of the mental alteration that a repeated "Mi" for 7 minutes can cause under certain conditions. De-(ob)sequies.
