"The fourth track, 'Sheep', is introduced by an aguestre atmosphere"----------> But does the word 'aguestre' exist? Or is it a fine archaism of which I am unaware? A decidedly aguestre review nonetheless.

I've already shared my disgusting opinion in the other review, I just wanted to add one thing. These guys are one of the most ignorant groups I've ever seen; instead of talking about kinks, Rolling Stones, Beatles, they don't know how to do anything. In fact, the results speak for themselves. Even within Britpop, they are definitely the group that has lagged the most and clung to their clichés. This is the most courageous album; it deserves a solid 2.

Fuck, I haven't seen them live yet, but so far this is the best album of this greedy and bittersweet 2008 for me. A perfect and schizoid mix of ethnic sounds and post-punk noise, spiced up with a delightful bad-guy voice (even though he sings in French, the guy sometimes seems to have a German inflection of wickedness).

@ Dark Schneider: I didn't feel dragged into it, I replied like that because I think you said something stupid, nothing personal.

Regarding the triviality of some of his television appearances, I would like to post this: ----> <------. Is it necessary to explain the banality and stupidity of interventions like this?

I agree with Gasolio (and it relieves me to see someone on Debaser who occasionally writes arguments), in my opinion, however, his most successful film work is Johnny Stecchino. In any case, the only thing that can truly be appreciated in his little cinema are (always and only) the qualities of the performer he brings out, because as a director, he is, to say the least, mediocre.

One of the things I like most about Benigni is his interpretative reading of Prokofiev's children's musical work, "Peter and the Wolf," one of the moments when his skills as a performer truly shine (and I'm not kidding). In other moments, however, it seems he has no talent for it at all (I’m talking especially about recent years).

"It's been since Life is Beautiful that (unfortunately) he hasn't been heard from anymore"-----------> "Pinocchio" (2002), "The Tiger and the Snow" (2005).... "But any criticism leveled at a character of such stature is futile and unfounded if not politically motivated, stirred up by some little fascist."-----> What an intelligent thought. Little fascist, go tell that to your father.

"Benigni is one of the few who manages to stand out in this sad peninsula."----> We can also save him, no problem. He has made a few nice films (even if NOTHING memorable) and he has his own personal style, there's no doubt about that, but over time his satirical figure (?) has diminished; more than a character of a certain caliber, he has turned into a caricature. It's better to draw a veil of pity over his recent films, as well as over his interpretations of the Divine Comedy, and also over his latest television appearances.
