I read this dispute from the outside, because I haven't had the chance yet to listen to Meredith Monk. I would have rated Sanjuro's review a 5, but now I abstain, because the following sentence bothered me a bit: "As for speaking 'seriously' or making others understand Monk's work, I don't care. I write for myself, not for you." Regarding the rest, I will say that it doesn't seem at all like a blasphemy to define John Cage as a minimalist, and furthermore, it seemed to me that the term punk was used by Sanjuro only to attribute a particular meaning, which Odradek misunderstood.
