Fates Warning Awaken The Guardian
Voto:
Well... it's not the albums from the '80s that I like about Fates Warning, because I find them flat in sound and with pretty mundane vocal lines. Ray Alder, Mark Zonder (!!!), and Kevin Moore will help Jim Matheos deliver decidedly better albums.

Groups THAT in the past have been almost ignored

Ah, one more thing. I don’t see what the problem is if someone wants to highlight great groups that were almost ignored in the past. After all, there’s always time to reevaluate an artistic work. Names in painting like Modigliani and Van Gogh were dead by the time their works were worth much. Schopenhauer’s philosophical work was recognized only in his old age because, when he was young, everyone had eyes only for Hegel. Reflect on this.

On some things said in your last comment, I agree with you incredibly. But that doesn’t mean that '80s rock is worth nothing and that it can't stand alongside the '70s. It means that in the '80s, the interest of record labels shifted more than before towards promoting qualities other than musical. But we can't base our musical tastes solely on what mainstream offers us. At least if we are people who love music. And Debaser also exists to appreciate music that is unjustly underrepresented elsewhere.

Of the footprints, I only know "uomo di pezza." A very beautiful review that is a pleasure to read.

"Knowing history means knowing, for example, the events and historical figures that characterized it" ----> This is complete nonsense. Knowing history means understanding the causes and effects of historical events, contextualizing them within the socio-economic framework. Elementary school history is learned by knowing events and historical figures.
"If I have to talk to you about World War II, I speak of Churchill, Pearl Harbor, Hitler, and famous figures and events; I don't just mention the names of all the soldiers who died in war and the civilian victims, meaning countless little heroes" ----> this shows that you don't understand a damn thing about history, since you reduce historical knowledge to a trivial patchwork of names and events.
"Nothing, it's a limit they can't overcome" ----> The only one who has shown major limitations so far is you, since you're the one who says, "I don't believe there can be groups that don't want to reach the general public," or, "I'm not interested in music; I'm interested in artists who, beyond music, must also have such a captivating stage presence that they remain etched in memory."

Walter, what the hell are you saying? Do you realize you need to proofread what you write? Then you say that this site only reviews bands that haven't had historical significance, but are you an idiot? Go count the reviews of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, and compare them to the number of reviews for bands like Tortoise, Fugazi, or Melvins. You’re talking completely without any awareness. Your arguments are among the dumbest I’ve ever read on DeBaser. You judge bands before listening to them. At least admit that you've had some tough days and confess that you've written nonsense. That's all.

In my opinion, Jimi Hendrix without a bandana would have forgotten even the pentatonic scales. Damn, I can't play guitar without a bandana. I even take public competitions with my bandana on.
