Megadeth Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

Well, let's say that what you say, Jaw, is true to a certain extent, because in this album there’s an immaturity that Metallica had already abandoned after Kill 'em All. What I mean is that this album has aspirations, as it features sometimes non-linear rhythms and shifts between distortion and melodic sounds. However, these are poorly executed, as the rhythm of drums-bass-guitar stumbles at more than one point, and the sound of the guitars is sometimes unclear and unfocused, seeming to lose power. Slayer are raw, but their music is different from this, I believe. In their music, being raw works well, it enhances their attitude. But in this album, the compositional direction seems to clash with the "rawness."

I instead am convinced that in this album, as in others, there is no lack of compositional ideas, but rather that they are poorly represented in many songs and buried under a raw, immature instrumental performance.

Ah, ok, on this I can agree. It wasn't arrogance, but my need to have your comment clarified. Is it called arrogance?

Sure, here’s the translation:
Thanks, Ale. Too bad I have my reviews that have received a ton of 5s. But I only say this to contradict arrogant little idiots like you. Oh, I comment on reviews whenever the hell I want, since Debaser is also made for that. So keep your lectures to yourself. Also, unlike others, I hardly ever give a one and I explain my points of view. If you wait to wipe your ass after my next review, you better stay far away then... you must really stink.
Dream Theater Scenes From A Memory

Dream Theater entered history with Images and Words and Awake. They partly messed up with Falling into Infinity and then, realizing their mistake, decided to return to the beautiful interrupted path. However, there are many objections I feel compelled to raise: Jordan Rudess is not Kevin Moore, and you can feel it. He oozes technique and style but completely fails to convey emotions. And his solos make me cringe (but that’s strictly personal), starting from the sound (except when he uses the piano). Mike Portnoy delivers his worst performance on this album. His style is insubstantial, unrecognizable. If there had been any other drummer in his place on this record with good technique, nobody would have noticed. This consideration, however, spares Dance of Eternity. Myung is a machine, very good with rhythms, but when he tries his hand at solos, he’s pathetic, in my opinion. It feels like a terrible instructional video. Through Her Eyes and The Spirit Carries On are tunes that remind me of the specters of Falling into Infinity. They genuinely seem like something utterly predictable, like Ronan Keating. The songs that would be the best (Home, Fatal Tragedy, Dance of Eternity) become useless and meaningless after the first few minutes. I know very well that the parts of Dance of Eternity that follow Rudess's piano solo always make the most deluded fans of prog metal happy, but frankly, beyond the technical showcase, I find them pompous and unnecessary. This is what I think in summary of this work.

Here it seems to me that the words are being played with a bit too much. I'm not referring to the review, which I ultimately agree with, but to the comments. Saying that all the bands that will adopt a more prog attitude will draw from this album seems like a huge nonsense. So, since the person who made that claim also dared to give it a rating, I would appreciate it if they could support their opinion with examples. This is a raw album because technique doesn't just mean playing fast; it also means knowing how to measure the notes, keeping time, and being able to record one's instruments with appropriate sounds. The drumming has a rather appalling style, and the guitars and their parts are sometimes confusing, even if that doesn't detract from the fact that there are excellent ideas scattered throughout the album, albeit wasted by a bad sound, an abysmal instrumental immaturity, and a pointless and silly voice.

But yes, Dave, I wasn’t offended even at the beginning. Don’t worry. There will be better moments for us to appreciate each other.

The title is incomplete and after your introduction I didn't continue reading because I already know by heart what Dream Theater fans think about this pompous and pointless album. I bet you spoke well of Through Her Eyes... Right?

But then 5/5 = 7/10? What kind of math teacher did you have in elementary school? Tell me so I can report her.
