Since finally someone has decided to moderate opinions, I’ll share what I think on a musical level about what circulates on MTV, given that I haven't watched it in eight months, except for those moments when I accidentally hear it on the radio, at friends' houses, or in bars/clubs. The music on MTV isn’t pop, like what the Beatles, David Bowie, or even Jefferson Airplane used to make, or U2 from many years ago (which I think creates high-quality pop). In fact, the real problem, in my opinion, is understanding that there is no difference between pop and certain easy-listening rock. Sixty percent of the music on MTV follows guidelines dictated solely by marketing, which dictate that the backing tracks under all those fake voices must have very specific characteristics. Now, it’s logical that if we take Elisa or Ligabue, the backing track isn't made by a computer, although to create music for songs like the ones above, you really don’t need any talent. This is something that, on the other hand, with people like Christina Aguilera or Justin Timberlake (but here we really get into toy music) is quite plausible. For example, during this time, I’ve been using programs whose loops are sometimes more interesting than the songs circulating on the radio. And making them requires almost nothing. Even a child could learn. This happens according to a more obnoxious marketing logic, which is to target the weakest segment of users, namely children and teenagers. The music produced today mainly refers to this demographic, so the lyrics need to be very simple, flat, without strange references, to be assimilated by kids as well. Alongside this, the music, whose harmonies can really be produced by someone who has been playing guitar for a year. The difference is that those in charge of major productions can bring just about anything to market, knowing that with an adequate marketing campaign it will surely sell. Those who are outside this circuit can propose a huge work, but they will remain outside the mainstream.

Guys, after Mista's comment, I realized that I'm wasting my time on pointless discussions. The problem is that people monopolize others' conversations by assigning their own meanings to the words. So it's pointless to continue. The fact is that with crap music that nowadays even an autonomous software could produce (I'm not joking), people who have never picked up an instrument are making billions. I'm done.

Albi 6, you didn’t understand where my criticism was focused. I criticized more your "you are people without a social life" rather than your lack of passion for music. The discussion about the nightclub was related to the fact that nowadays people believe they have a social life only if they frequent trendy places or listen to what everyone else is listening to and dress like everyone else does. As soon as a different person is noticed, people tend to believe that they don’t have a social life. I find that to be nonsense. I'm also a bit irritated because I'm here talking seriously in a review that, like others, I promised myself not to read, not to comment on, not to vote. But your immature discourse caught my attention. And to conclude, I repeat that the few people who, in my opinion, truly manage to enjoy life without merely skimming the surface are: a) those who can establish deep human relationships, not just limited to "let's meet out on Saturday night." b) those who can appreciate and understand art, in whatever form it manifests.

I was misinformed; in fact, Gaber did not separate from his wife. But this not only confirms his goodness, it also validates it. It would have been vile to leave his wife just because she joined Forza Italia. As for politics, Gaber has always been someone who doesn't fit into an ideological model, and I consider that a good thing. Regarding comparisons, I won't comment. I only know three Italian singer-songwriters well: De Andrè like the Hail Mary, De Gregori quite well, and Gaber, whom I've recently discovered but have already listened to almost everything. And I don't feel like comparing them.

"since in his youth he did the leftist thing, a scourge of bourgeois, hypocritical, and trashy morals"---->>> Dear De Gregorius, you really haven't understood a damn thing about Gaber, just as you don't understand any of the other singer-songwriters you're pretending to talk about. Now, please stop talking about singer-songwriters, as they are far too conceptual for you, and go play on your PlayStation, preferably choosing a game that isn't a strategy one, because even with that, you might have obvious difficulties.

and you are also really ignorant, you piece of idiot: Gaber and Ombretta Colli got married in 1968. They separated long before she joined Forza Italia. So do you want to explain to me what the hell Giorgio Gaber has to do with Forza Italia?

"DavejonGilmour, you don't understand anything about De Gregori and you're speaking out of turn... DE GREGORI'S ALBUMS ARE ALL MASTERPIECES, PERIOD!!!! As for the line "VIENI IN CUCINA CHE TI CUCINO IO," it's clear you’re TALKING OUT OF TURN because the line is actually "FAMMI VENIRE IN CUCINA CHE TI CUCINO IO," which is distinctly different from the nonsense you said, and therefore has a completely different meaning. GO READ THE LYRICS OF DAMMI DA MANGIARE and tell me what vulgar things you notice, go!!! GAETANO, GRAZIANI, VECCHIONI, and GABER are nothing compared to De Gregori!!! And finally, I advise AJejebrazorf to give up on Dave because it's pointless to talk to him. And again: PINK FLOYD and GILMOUR ARE DRIED SHIT!!!!"... Here’s the comment you wrote it in, rookie.

You said that Gaber cleans De Gregori's shoes. Your exact words. It's clear that when someone starts from this conviction, any attempt to establish a dialogue is pointless and unproductive. Better to insult you and make fun of you. At least it's entertaining.

What a shitty speech, albi6. Your superficiality is worthy of a middle schooler, believe me. The simple fact is that art is the thing that fills your life more than anything else. That's why many, even after graduating from high school, feel empty inside and try to fill this void with art. You see, I study engineering, I go out on weekends, and every time I feel like it, I play music, listen to music, read books, watch movies. It's this, along with the love that ties me to the people I have friendships with, that fills my days. Then there are those who don't need all of this because they have a simpler, more trivial mindset in my opinion. So they settle for a job that gives them money, which is sacred, and for going out on Saturday night to the club, just to say they have a social life. I don’t know how old you are, but I hope you’re very young because if, when you grow up, you feel an existential void that the relationship with people and with art can fill, then you will have reached a certain maturity. Otherwise, in my humbly brutal opinion, you will simply remain an animal with a man's face.

I only know one thing: I will never learn anything from people like you, except how not to be a Degregorius.
