As far as I'm concerned, after consciously separating eroticism and porn, I would say that erotic films can be art, while porn does not reach artistic levels. Yes, I think I understand what you're trying to say: let's say that if the basic harmonic and rhythmic idea of a song isn't worth much, then it's pointless to build magnificent structures of arrangements on top of it because the foundation is shaky. Then let's forget what the Coldplay say, a band whose musical proposal I've never been able to stand. And the collaboration of Brian Eno with them remains a mystery to me.
