Nowadays, in order to experiment, one must somehow sacrifice the aspect of "ease of listening."

A record doesn't have to feature a deep innovation to be a masterpiece. Otherwise, you would be validating the opinions of critics who dismiss half of your favorite band's career.

"Symphony X, more than composers, are musicians; the muses don't seem to me to be either one or the other." --> It's a matter of perspective, I would say: I find that Symphony X have the potential to be good composers, but they ruin this potential precisely because they have very little formal care and concern for sound, and they are performers without style and guts. There’s nothing personal in representing their melodies. There's a lack of taste and style, as well as original ideas, so I would say that the foundation is lacking to consider them an above-average band.

"Do you want deep innovation in rock? I haven't felt it for decades"----> In short, it depends on what you mean by the rock scene, but now and then there are still people who genuinely say something new. Better: if we talk about modern music and not just rock, people like Mike Patton or ZU are experimenting with things never truly heard before, reshaping structures and forging very unique sounds. It’s experimentation and it's there. The fact that you haven't felt anything new in decades sends shivers down my spine.

Oh my God. Rather than Symphony X, I’d listen to Muse for life. The skill of a composer isn’t measured by the number of pieces they include in a song. I’ve always found Dream Theater superior to Symphony X in terms of taste. In short, an harmonic intuition alone isn't enough to elevate a musician’s level; you also need to know how to develop it and integrate it well, maybe with some insight. I think Muse showed great promise in their first two albums. However, instead of progressing, they got worse, self-referencing billions of times and resorting to an electronic music that, when placed in their pieces, sounds repetitive and stale.

Nice film, but if it had been made by people with greater artistic taste, with better performances from the actors, with a better soundtrack, and with more original and careful cinematography, it would have been a masterpiece, which it is not. At times it gives me the feeling of being just a blockbuster, which annoys me. The two sequels are crap. Anyway, I don’t see it as a film comparable to Star Wars.

I really liked the first album by Muse, The Origin of Symmetry as well, the third one makes me feel quite grossed out, I’ve heard two songs from this one and I kept a respectful distance.

A film with strongly theatrical traits. Madsen undoubtedly delivers a tremendous performance, but in my opinion, Buscemi and Roth match him.

Well, no problem. I always welcome these things with interest :-). I don't consider them spam.
