Well, Queen were great innovators, come on! In every respected rock book, Queen is listed as one of the top 5 most representative bands.

1- Zappa was not glam at all!
2- The videos released before B.R. were shot as a form of advertising but never as proper music videos, which is a different thing.
3- dfgh, it seems to me that you're on/off. Right?

The first album by Queen dates back to 1969, titled Queen in Nuce, a glam-rock album. Here’s the link: link rotto

Here are some links that mention B.R. as the first video in history. There are another 100 links.

The Beatles absolutely never made music videos!! It’s recognized by everyone that Queen were the pioneers of music videos. Bolan started doing glam in '73 while Queen did it in '70. It’s true that others tried to mix various genres, but no one did it as well as Queen. Well, I believe that clothing is also important in rock, and Queen, as mentioned, were the first to dress that way, which soon sparked a craze and everyone dressed like that. The Led were dressed in jeans and open shirts, never seen in sequins.

Well, besides Queen, I love Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Zappa, De André, Bowie, Sparks, and many other legendary artists, but I believe that Queen contributed to the history of rock like very few have managed to do. Queen were the first to do glam rock, before Bowie (admitted by David himself), they were the first to mix opera with classical music and hard rock, they were pioneers of music videos, and in an era when rock bands dressed in ripped jeans, QUEEN showed up in sequined outfits with skin-tight clothes. Furthermore, their sound at the time was absolutely innovative, so much so that even today it’s one of the most imitated sounds around. I remember that era very well and I recall that Queen was a true musical revolution.

I don't agree, I think that the presence and greatness of Mercury is so immense that anyone would have been missed, including May (even if a bit more reluctantly). Freddie would have been able to compensate. Perhaps completely changing genre and sound but always with the same style, and it is known that Mercury was one of the most versatile artists to ever exist.

I’m not saying that Deacon and Taylor were poor; on the contrary, I think they were excellent! In my opinion, they were essential, but not as much as Freddie and May, that's all.
As for the compositions, it’s true that Taylor and Deacon wrote great pieces, but I was just giving an opinion as a musician. And anyway, it shouldn’t be taken too seriously; it was just a superficial consideration based on my tastes.
I agree with those who say that Freddie was clearly the most important of the four.

I stick to my opinion, also because Mozart, when he was alive and composing, wasn't even considered a great genius. In fact, he died without a penny and without even a coffin, but in a sack. So he couldn't influence his time while he was alive, but only after his death did he become a myth, a bit like Freddie and others.
