Ah, and for those who were asking about the band, well Jon Carin and Guy Pratt are two certainties when it comes to the knowledge and execution of the old repertoire. Phil Manzanera is a luxury support to Gilmour, somewhat in the background but impeccable. Steve DiStanislao is a powerful (too much for some) and precise drummer; I liked him. Dick Parry is the sax legend and needs no comments, right? Last but not least, a fantastic Richard Wright plays with enthusiasm and creativity and is at the forefront with his Hammond more than ever. He is essential in recreating the Pink Floyd sound and adds touches of class to the concert, even with his vocal interpretations. Stellar and irreplaceable.

Gilmour & Wright together always manage to recreate the magical Pink Floyd alchemy. Seeing them in such an intimate setting is simply the best. Gilmour proves to be a guitarist of unparalleled refinement, and it's truly three hours of great music. Echoes is immense and alone is worth the price of admission. The tracks from OAI gain life on stage, but the second half, with the Floyd classics, is pure delirium, and when Rick makes the legendary PING resonate in the hall, it’s the apotheosis.

While agreeing that Pink Floyd as a group are worth at least ten times more than the individual members, this is a decidedly enjoyable album, one of the best in the not-so-remarkable realm of "pink" solo artists. It should be released shortly, remastered by EMI, at an interesting price (around 10 euros). Much better than About Face in any case.

Hi Shine, I had the chance to appreciate some of your other reviews (definitely deserving ones about Wright), but lately I don't really feel like voting on the reviews... I don't exactly understand the point, so I usually avoid it.

This new album by Gilmour is truly disappointing. With the exception of a few tracks (Murder, Cruise, Near the end, and a couple of others), the songs are uninspired, arranged in a questionable manner, with orchestral use that can be quite irritating at times. It’s about to be reissued by EMI in a remastered version, along with the much better predecessor from 1978.

Florence, oh yes, unforgettable concert. Tears Invitation to the blues. Damn.

The album of Alice's final artistic maturity, featuring top-class musicians and equally remarkable songs. A pinnacle.
