Having dusted it off and listened to it again, I must say I don't feel inclined to give this album a full score. Partly because it starts off limping and leaves half the concert out. Partly because within the selected tracks there are also a few that are not exactly essential (like Heavy Fuel). The final sequence is very, very beautiful, which earns it a 4.

You reminded me of an album that I really haven't listened to in a long time (read: "years") and that will definitely be dusted off this weekend!

Pretentious? It's strange because, on the contrary, I find it a job that doesn't take itself very seriously. However, it’s interesting that there’s someone who has this feeling. And above all, that they remember it!

Where did I write "multinstrumentalist"? I reread it, but I really don't see it. Even though it is. And anyway, I'm not talking about Queen and their production at all: even when I compare them to May and Mercury, I always do so thinking of their solo proposals. So, dear walterstarman, I find your controversy a bit out of place.

The album is from 1994, I apologize for the guilty omission.
Edoardo Bennato La fantastica storia del pifferaio magico
Voto:
Bennato is really sad and the cover, truly unforgivable, says it all about the content.
Battisti Pensieri, Emozioni

I honestly think that it is Battisti's melodic genius that has made Mogol "immortal" (?) and not the other way around. Augh.
Franco Battiato L'Ombrello e la Macchina da Cucire

I completely agree with Saltuario's analysis, although I wouldn't go as far as to say it's "nothing well done." It's simply an album that's too cerebral, too cold, and mechanical to be a Battiato record. I give it one extra point, but it's clear that it's a rather unsuccessful album.
