The Beatles Rubber Soul
Voto:
Yes, but Bjork was talking about "fans who would abandon them" in favor of prog, so it’s not about artistic comparisons (which are unfeasible and out of place) but about "slices of the market," and this is what I am referring to in my post.

Would they perhaps have experienced a decline in popularity? Well, certainly, it’s possible, even likely, because staying at certain (astronomical) levels isn’t even normal. But look, their rivals wouldn’t have been the groups mentioned in the posts above, but rather people like the Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd, who were the true mass phenomena of the '70s.

Sorry, but I really don't understand why the Beatles would have had to turn to progressive music. As if it were the only possible genre in the '70s. I remember that Paul had enormous success with Wings (I mean Wings, not the Beatles), even more than some prog bands, so can you explain what need the Beatles would have had to pursue a genre that was light years away from them? McCartney and Lennon may not be to everyone’s taste, but they have more than proven that they could write great songs even on their own, and moreover, they managed to sell them very well without following styles or trends that didn’t suit them.

@bjork: as far as I understand, they did overdubs between original parts of different songs, basically "grafts" of one song onto another... Oh maybe it's nice, I don't know...
Mimmo Locasciulli Sglobal
Voto:
I haven't heard from Mimmo Locasciulli in years. The last time he sang his version of "Povero me," more famous in the degregoriana version, so it's been quite a while, actually. It's rather disheartening how far the Italian music market has fallen to this state. Of course, the cover (let alone the childish drawing but also the lettering!) certainly doesn't help in selling it.

It's a discographic surgery operation on a corpse, albeit an excellent one. Overdubs and various alchemies in hindsight, even with the blessing of the rights holders, leave me conceptually quite perplexed and frankly not at all interested in verifying the final result.

@surfer: Stronko's, which I appreciated very much at the time, is at best a pre-review, so this is still a different thing. Thank you anyway.
Bisio E Le Storie Tese E Elio Live in Mantova - luglio 2006

I haven't seen it, but it seems interesting, even though Bisio as a singer gives me the creeps. But isn't the "Canzone del boscaiolo" the one by the Monty Python?
Cochi e Renato Ritornare alle 17
Voto:
It is worth mentioning that Cochi and Renato are performing their show "Nuotando con le lacrime agli occhi" in Italian theaters, where they alternate between cabaret and songs, new pieces and old classics, accompanied on this occasion by the talented band Good Fellas.

Bjork is right, there is little left to save now but they were a good group, at times even excellent.
