@ZannaB: Mrs. Brown is a (minor) character in the film, a housewife to whom Eric Idle - who is also the author of the song - "appears" at a certain point singing the aforementioned piece. But I repeat, the movie is an absolute must-see!!!

Mrs. Brown, Gordon Brown’s wife??? Hehehehe... but no, Sgalambro and Battiato simply have a film culture in addition to a musical one because the so-called "Canzone della Galassia" is taken from the legendary "Monty Python: The Meaning Of Life." An absolutely essential film.

Come on Barrett, really... an useless post that will still get a few hundred equally useless comments, just like mine.
Ruggero Deodato Cannibal Holocaust

A voyeuristic little film that, aside from the dismemberments, really leaves very little, just a bit more than its even poorer imitators. In this case, the end does not justify the means.

Well, to be precise, Totò said "partenopeo e parte napoletano." Napoletano, not americano, obviously! Later, the joke was used, with personal twists, by many others, including the good Arbore who, in his case, obviously added the "americano."
Stanley Kubrick Full Metal Jacket

Exceptional film and surely one of Kubrick's most complex works.

You have pinpointed one of the film's biggest issues, namely the total flatness of the many characters, none of whom exhibit even minimal three-dimensionality. All the characters are barely sketched out, resulting in the significant consequence that it becomes very difficult to engage with their stories. A film that should focus on emotions ultimately feels quite aseptic. Only the craftsmanship remains, but reaching the end is quite a struggle.

I've never seen the film; it never piqued my interest, and after reading reviews and comments, it seems I haven't missed much. Italian cinema is in an even worse state than music because it's closely tied to television distribution, which eliminates any initial chance for diverse productions.

(On movie reviews, I also agree with TB, they are just fine, but as it is now, the site is an unusable and disorganized chaos, even worse than it had become with the latest changes. At the very least, cinema and music should be kept in two distinct sections to give a minimum of usability to everything. Well, it’s up to you.)
