Brad Silberling Una serie di sfortunati eventi
Voto:
Jim Carrey is clearly superior to all the names mentioned and, above all, compared to the aforementioned, he is not a fungible actor in certain roles.

As I remember it, it's a 3-star movie, nice but not memorable. Except for the always great Jim Carrey.

Well, I saw it recently and it didn't quite excite me... well-made, well-acted, to be sure, but it left me rather cold. Nothing compared, for instance, to "The Lives of Others."
Carlo Verdone Borotalco

I was torn between a 3 and a 4, but thinking back to the cargo ship flying the Liberian flag tipped the scale! But it would be a 3.5 at best... I absolutely don't believe, however, that this is Verdone's most successful film. In my opinion, Compagni di scuola remains probably the best.
Mel Brooks Spaceballs

Funny but not super funny, for us brooks fans it's a must just for that handful of cult scenes. I really need to commit to watching it in English because some voice dubbing choices, including the annoying practice of using dialectal inflections "to make it funny," are downright disastrous, I think.

Matheson's novel is a classic of the genre; unbelievably, I have never seen the film. Will Smith's version looks like the typical American fare, and nine times out of ten, they will change the ending in favor of something sunnier, more optimistic, and anything else you can think of. I think I'll pass.

But no, DJ, I wasn’t talking about you! And I remind you that Fossati (and I with him) would say a wise "we"...

Ah ah dear primiballi... let's see, I could have my better half write something about it (about Jovanotti), who has many qualities but indulges in that weakness, then I'll sign it. I really can't do it!

And as a closing theme: It will be the music that goes around, it will be us who have it in our heads...
Tom Waits Orphans - Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards

I have already expressed my thoughts in my review of Orphans: it is an important work and absolutely not secondary in the Waitsian discography, a monumental testament to a volcanic creativity. Difficult to grasp and evaluate in its entirety precisely because of its vastness as a true anthology, but the beauty is that almost none of the tracks feel like a leftover piece; it’s all first choice.
