Ligabue Lambrusco Coltelli Rose & Pop Corn
Voto:
Once someone said that rock is "four chords and the truth." The problem is that some people take this four-chord thing too seriously, which is why they keep recycling the same ones in every song. Ligabue is among them. If we add that his concept of truth is "siamo dentro a un happy hour vivere vivere costa la metà," you can do the math. It's true, always the same song, always the same few things to say about the character. No rating.

Great craft (in a good way), good actors, a bit of rhetoric here and there. Overrated, yes.

In the 80s, I completely snubbed these guys, just like the Duran "cousins" by the way. The years have certainly helped to positively reassess things like Through the Barricades, but with moderation. However, the idea of this album sounds interesting, taking the best of that production and trying to enhance it... it definitely deserves an open-minded listen. And if my friend primiballi says so, there must be some truth to it.

4 to the movie, 5 to the Sandrelli.

I stopped at the first line because surely the Pink Floyd did not emerge from "Norman Smith's sound experiments"! Norman Smith was called "Normal" Smith, just imagine... Normal was assigned to them as a producer by EMI after his experiences in the studio with the Beatles, but he was certainly not a new George Martin as the record company had hoped. It goes without saying that the Floyd didn't really need him.

And I almost forgot the obligatory 5, for once, to the review.

If this is a 5 out of 5 to the triad Sgt Pepper's - Abbey Road - White Album, what should we give?

God of Rock forgive those who skip Brown Sugar because they don't know what they're doing... actually no, don't forgive a damn thing. Essential album, there's nothing more to say.

The review is a heartfelt declaration of love but not much more than that. The album, well, comes after the masterpieces and it isn't the best farewell. A few flashes, that's true.
