Perhaps the next part of the article explains things better: "Edgar, the multi-instrumentalist, was a fan of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. He formed Tangerine Dream in September 1967. Tangerine is the name of a reddish-yellow sort of Mandarine grown in Florida. [Edgar Froese] With the band called 'The Ones', which he had already created in 1965, he released a single titled 'Lady Greengrass' in 1967. On this track the lyrics go: "The trees turn tangerine, the sky is suddenly green....". The band played Rhythm & Blues and Rock 'n Roll tracks.
