Well, you can't say that Bohemian Rhapsody isn't a masterpiece... and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't love Queen (and not even Mercury that much…). Come on, a bit of objectivity!

I don't know either of them. Good reception.

Well, I have already expressed my dislike for Queen. That said, I fully agree with you when you say that Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the greatest songs of all time. It truly stands as the greatest testament to the brilliance of Freddie Mercury and the ability of the other members to nurture his creative flair. Besides this masterpiece, the album features more than one noteworthy track, and ultimately, I believe it’s the best Queen album (or at least the one I happen to listen to the most). Great review.

Great review for a truly memorable concert. I was at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and I completely agree with your comment. On An Island is for me a great album, with a unique musical poetry and sophistication. There are fantastic tracks like the title track, This Heaven, A Pocketful of Stones, Smile, and the wonderful Then I Close my Eyes, which sounds very ambient, in an "Eno style." As for the classics, well, we also experienced the apotheosis at the first notes of Shine on... But in general, it was a continuous thrill that lasted more than two hours. An incredible emotion, I could say never experienced at a concert.

@Shine: Well, the arrangements are very well done and have nothing to envy from the originals; on the contrary. It’s clear that Morgan is an excellent musician, quite eclectic, and in this project, he has surrounded himself with talented people. This gives the album undeniable aesthetic value. The main problem, in my opinion, is the vocal interpretation: Morgan's voice is infinitely less evocative than De André's, nor is it supported by a refined technique that could focus the listener's attention on the singing rather than the interpretation and expressiveness. In short, you’ll know since you’re familiar with the work, those songs must be experienced, they can’t just be sung. The vocal interpretation must be able to emphasize every passage, every single verse, to embed it in the minds and hearts of the listeners, and in this respect, I believe the gap between Morgan and De André becomes astronomical. Consequently, as much as I admire Morgan as a musician and appreciate his courage, I cannot say I’m enthusiastic about the project.

Well, Bluvertigo were one of the most interesting bands in the recent Italian music scene; it's a shame they disbanded, and I didn't quite understand why. Morgan is a good musician and a good performer, but taking on a project like this is artistic suicide. The arrangements are the best part of the album, and I can't deny that in some tracks ("Dormono sulla collina"), Morgan's interpretation is convincing, but overall the gap with the original is too marked. Nonetheless, we should appreciate the courage (which is becoming increasingly rare in music) and the effort to bring this absolute masterpiece back into the spotlight, giving even the newest generations the chance to discover this album and, by extension, the extraordinary poetry of Fabrizio De André.

Good review, but I hate them; I mean, they definitely make good music, the keyboardist is quite mind-blowing, but there's something about them that I just can't stand.
Yes Open Your Eyes

Great review, but in my opinion, the last true Yes album is Going For the One. The only positive thing about this album is Howe's incredible creativity, fantastic as always, even though something from the golden days has been lost.

To be truly objective, the only one who stands out is Lennon, dressed in white, which would be a prophetic signal of his death, according to another train of thought... while Paul’s stride is different from the others, probably because he is left-handed. But when I think about it, they are all dressed differently, in fact...
In short, the usual nonsense, the usual rumors, the same regurgitations of satanism, but honestly, we’re grown-ups; is there still a need to believe in these stories? The album is phenomenal, like all the albums from Rubber Soul onwards. This one in particular sounds incredibly modern.
