Rick Wakeman The Six Wifes Of Henry VIII
Voto:
Well, I believe the same applies to Wright as it does to Gilmour: he is not a virtuoso of the instrument, normally he doesn't do technically sensational things, but he has infinite taste, never a note more or less than what is needed.

@Omeganex9999: Damn, I have to pay for a pizza now, I was convinced it was said "Labrài" ... Thanks a lot anyway.

Well, I would say yes, just listen to the song Close to The Edge to get an idea... actually, the others are no less impressive. Instead of focusing strictly on virtuosity, concentrate on the composition.

Fantastic album, I agree with the reviewer's opinion on Wakeman, truly the greatest keyboardist of all time, for his technical execution, compositional skills, originality, and versatility. Perhaps he is superior to Emerson, who excessively indulges in virtuosic displays; however, it’s like debating the sex of angels: everyone has their favorite. Mine is definitely Wakeman. Very good review, but it seems like you’re doubling another one... In any case, 5.
p.s. An unrelated curiosity, I hope someone will want to answer me: what is the correct pronunciation of "LaBrie"? Thank you.
Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction

I have to tell the truth, I haven’t finished reading it... too long and perhaps a bit schoolish... still, not bad for what I've managed to read. I know the album well; I've fed on it for years, but the more I listen to it again, the more I realize how the Guns are a band for rebellious teenagers, with a formidable guitarist who unfortunately, in my opinion, hasn't been able to fully express his enormous potential.
The Rolling Stones A Bigger Bang

Perfect review. I fully agree with the assessment; the Stones prove to be one of the greatest bands of all time. It’s absurd to criticize them, I believe; revolutions should be expected from the new generations, not from those who have already contributed in that sense. Great album, I would say much better than "Pezzi," to which it is compared in the review.

I noticed it too... maybe because it's summer, and only the cream is left... :-)
David Gilmour On a Island

I agree with Shine on the album's assessment, perfectly. I've already mentioned in one of the other reviews that criticizing this CD by claiming it sounds like the Floyd is pure idiocy, given that David Gilmour is the lead voice and electric guitar of the Pink Floyd. As for Waters, well, I can only acknowledge his genius in works like The Wall and in the lyrics of many songs of the group, but on a personal level, I just can't stand him. Moreover, as a musician, he isn’t exactly the best, so for me, Waters, outside of the Pink Floyd dimension, is absolute zero (the reference is purely coincidental, for heaven's sake...). Regarding Atom Heart Mother, I'm sorry to disagree with Shine: for me, it's an absolute masterpiece of progressive rock and, no matter what Waters and Gilmour say (though it seems that Wright himself isn't exactly thrilled about it), those orchestrations are what make it unique in the landscape of rock music. I'd also like to remind you that, at a basic level, the piece is based on a very simple chord progression that, if it hadn’t found such an arrangement, would likely have fallen into obscurity. I have a bootleg where the Floyd play it, of course without the orchestra, and listening to it that way, raw and unpolished, it almost seems like a minor episode, when in reality...
Jaco Pastorius Holiday For Pans
Voto:
Well, there's no point in repeating how great Jaco Pastorius is. I have all of his discography, but I didn't even know this CD existed: these are the moments I'm glad to frequent this site. Good job on the dig. 5 out of trust.

I agree on everything, Van Morrison's eclecticism is truly astonishing.
