However, I wouldn't say the best rock band in history.

The album is good, the title track is fantastic, legendary, but like in all Queen albums, there are many minor moments and a lot of filler. I believe this is one of the band's problems: a very diluted discography, with many brilliant songs among many others that verge on trash.
The second flaw of the group, in my opinion, lies in getting bogged down in indecent productions aimed at showcasing the "dance" side of their music rather than the "rock" side. Take "A Kind Of Magic": live, it's a tremendous song, with remarkable power, but in the original version, it's pure dance, with an unbearably glossy sound (the same goes for I Want To Break Free). Apart from that, live, they're probably one of the best bands I've ever seen in action; Live At Wembley is fantastic, perhaps the best live performance I've ever witnessed. And in general, they've composed simply legendary songs, which I'm not going to name now because you all know them.

He doesn't know how to sing or write. He only works because he's Roby's son (who probably recommended him as well...)

The post-Gabriel Genesis increasingly makes me feel sorry for them (if the review is true). The song about football, then...

Not to be contentious, but I think you haven't listened to this album closely or at all. There are tracks that sound very little like Theater, really very little, like Osmosis, The Stretch, Chris & Kevin's Excellent Adventure, and others. There's much more courage in experimenting, as one would expect from a side project; I can agree that the album feels a bit cold, almost like a technical exercise.

Great review, I completely agree; it's exactly how I feel about Ligabue. However, the album isn't bad.

Well done, great idea, legendary song, the most beautiful of all time (in my opinion)
David Gilmour Live In Piazza San Marco - Venezia - 12/08/06

Yes, but come on, enough with the tour reviews of Gilmour... also because, from what I gather reading the setlists, they aren't that different from each other.
Deep Purple Rapture Of The Deep

Well, now we’re even shoveling crap on Deep Purple... They might not be to everyone’s taste (I don't like them much, for example), but you can't dismiss a historic band whose influence on rock music, especially metal, is undeniable.
