I believe that in the eighties he lost the spark and creative fury that had characterized him in the seventies; personally, I don’t like any of the albums from this period, especially Re-ac-tor, which seems too impetuous and noisy, lacking intimacy, while the other one simply feels uninspired. But tastes vary; after all, even Neal from the 70s isn’t among my favorite artists (Van Morrison is light years ahead of him, just to make a comparison...)

Exemplary review, clear and well-written, I read it in one go. The album is not very interesting, but they just don't do it for me...

I didn't mean kitchen, it was a metaphor obviously. Sure, forge works too.. :-)

It is undoubtedly a beautiful album, played with great skill; after all, class is not just water. However, it doesn't seem to add much to Neil Young's artistic trajectory, although there are several noteworthy tracks, all played masterfully, among them The Painter. Of course, it’s not generous to expect more from an artist in his sixties or almost.

Is it possible that I'm the only one who thinks this way?

And then at least by reviewing well-known albums you can start a conversation; what the hell is there to talk about with the so-called emerging artists if only the reviewer knows them? Both things are needed, and it seems to me that on this site, the space dedicated to emerging or less known artists is quite substantial, more than any other music review site I know of. I actually don't mind these reviews if they are written well and with clarity.

But let everyone write whatever the hell they want as long as that remains possible, damn it...

Beautiful review for a fantastic piece, the ultimate suite. However, I don't agree with the slight coldness with which you dismiss some previous works of the Floyd; for me, "Atom Heart Mother" is a masterpiece, even if the Floyd themselves are embarrassed by it (in my opinion, there are other things an artist should be ashamed of, certainly not experimentation and courage), but the whole album operates on very high levels. Regarding "Obscured," even though I wasn't asked, I'll give my opinion: negligible, absolutely not on the same level as "More," where there are truly valuable pieces.
