Dream Theater When Dream & Day Reunite

One must always remember that these people are on tour for weeks, playing roughly every other night, without the time to fully hone the quality of each single performance. I'm talking about the voice, which is obviously the most delicate instrument. So when critiquing, this should also be kept in mind. I’ll give an example: the great Freddy Mercury, how many times were we able to appreciate him at the peak of his abilities? Certainly few, compared to the number of performances he gave. Even in the extraordinary Live At Wembley, his performance, while fantastic in terms of energy and drive, is far from perfect considering his potential.
The criticism of the initiative, although it falls within the usual and expected critiques leveled at the band, I believe is warranted this time. Covering oneself might be a bit too much, even if the execution has a celebratory and commemorative character. As always, the choice is ours, whether to buy or not, and this is the basic principle.

Charlie Dominici is not capable of singing this music, that's for sure. For me, LaBrie's performance is not poor at all, as the reviewer claims; it's certainly not at the supersonic level of live Score, but in general, during the related tour, saying it’s poor is a strong statement. To be honest, I don't recall ever witnessing a poor vocal performance from LaBrie, at least as far as official and semi-official live performances are concerned: I definitely didn't like him only in the cover of Master Of Puppets, for obvious reasons. Of course, we've really only heard LaBrie at 100% in Live At Marquee and in Score, but even at half capacity, he remains extraordinary in my opinion, aside from a few moments.

But for heaven's sake, how can you shoot at the Beatles? Who knows, anyway the review is very good.

The film is disturbing. Many scenes are gratuitously striking. However, it greatly facilitates the understanding of the album which, needless to say, is a masterpiece, the rock opera par excellence. Perfection.
