Led Zeppelin For Badgeholders Only (Live At L.A Forum, 6.23.77)

A note on Achilles Last Stand: I find it fantastic, but I would have opted for more conciseness: in the long run, it becomes repetitive. That said, it's still a fantastic piece.

Great suggestion, congratulations to the reviewer. The bootleg must be something extraordinary; three hours and a quarter of music I think is a record for a band of this caliber. A conception of rock that we no longer find in today’s bands, too concerned with the performance aspect and less driven by passion. The setlist is truly impressive, as are the 31 minutes of No Quarter, which I think is really too stretched out, especially considering that in 31 minutes you could play 8 (!!!) four-minute songs... basically, they could have played their entire discography. Anyway, I'm curious about Plant's vocal performance, which has definitely declined since "The Song Remains The Same." The appearance of Keith Moon, the one who suggested the name to Page's band, is certainly a pleasant surprise. And the duet with Bonzo has gone down in history; we can see it on YouTube. Regarding the live performance aspect raised by someone before me, I would like to point out the frenetic live activity of the Zep (six CONSECUTIVE shows in LA alone): anyone who plays knows very well that such a pace is humanly UNSUSTAINABLE, especially regarding vocal wear, which clearly can only have repercussions on the overall quality of the performance. The Who also had a frenzied pace in their performances, though perhaps not to the level of the Zep, and one shouldn’t be surprised if the quality isn't always optimal. I challenge any modern band to maintain such rhythms—coupled with a not exactly balanced lifestyle—and deliver 100% on stage every time. So LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN and down with all those pop-rock bands that space out their performances and play for an hour and a half.

Mango? I detest it; I don't think I'll ever listen to anything birthed from his mind... The review does not describe

How can one bury this album? I completely agree with the reviewer, it's a little gem with some truly interesting and exciting moments, like the irresistible Martial Law... However, the review could have been a bit more analytic...
Lou Reed Mistrial

Regarding the album, I agree that it is certainly not an essential work... But as someone pointed out, it’s interesting to note how, even at what is likely the lowest point of his career, Lou Reed manages to compose pieces of decent quality that are not devoid of interesting ideas.

I meant to say underrated as well as practically unknown to the general public, and I believe that this, in light of the masterpieces produced by this extraordinary artist, is truly unacceptable. I believe that fundamentally few are able to fully grasp his greatness and genius, especially in certain lyrics...
Franco Battiato Fleurs 2
Voto:
Battiato is a great artist. The previous episodes of the trilogy are simply sublime. I am sure this album will reach those levels too. His version of "Te lo leggo negli occhi" is spine-chilling. I eagerly await to hear the versions of the tracks by Otis Redding and Simon & Garfunkel.
Eric Clapton From the Cradle

In my opinion, Clapton is the most overrated guitarist in history, as well as one of the most boring and repetitive. For me, his peak is Unplugged, a true showcase of skill, style, and class. The only track I save from this album is Third Degree.
The Black Crowes The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

I don't know this album, but they are one of the most interesting and valid bands of the current scene, in my opinion. The singer has a caustic voice that drives me crazy; I still have the cover of Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin ringing in my ears... I really like them, I think I'll listen to this album. Good review.

I listened to it as soon as it came out, I was about sixteen, I think... Anyway, I was just getting into rock music, and honestly, I remember finding this album very enjoyable. It’s catchy and powerful pop rock, a lot of fun. It’s not like a band has to be on the level of the Who or the Stones to have a reason to exist, if you know what I mean...
