Well, I believe it's impossible to express negative opinions about this album, unless you have a (more than understandable) dislike for the progressive genre. For me, Yes have been the expression of the highest potential of the musical genre in question (The Yes Album, Fragile, Close To The Edge, Relayer) as well as the peak of degeneration that this same genre can reach if self-indulgence and mannerism take over, suffocating substance (Tales From Topographic Oceans). The best alongside Gabriel's Genesis, anyway. I don't share some forced interpretations of the songs from the naturalist perspective outlined by the reviewer. I don't believe there's such a connecting thread among the various pieces.

I’m listening to it again right now: musically really excellent like all the Banco albums from the ’70s, but the vocal lines and Di Giacomo’s voice just don’t convince me.

On this album, I can't form a definitive opinion: it is undoubtedly a masterpiece of the genre, especially "Canto nomade" and "Dopo..niente è più lo stesso." "La città sottile" is something truly disturbing: I've never heard anything like it. Unfortunately, I'm not very fond of Di Giacomo's voice, which I find excessive. Musically, however, Banco is worthy of standing alongside bands like Gentle Giant and King Crimson. For me, though, Genesis remain the best expression of the genre.

Well, when it comes to Rudess and Keith Emerson (or Rick Wakeman), there really is no contest, even though musicians (and particularly keyboardists) who are too showy and self-indulgent don't really drive me wild...

It must be the usual soulless progressive meatloaf. I might be wrong, but anyway, just because Rudess is involved – horrible sounds, questionable compositional skills – I will never listen to it.
