Wonderful review, beautiful album, although I believe that for Gentle Giant the same argument made for Emerson Lake and Palmer partially applies: the exponential complexity of the pieces sometimes comes at the expense of beauty.

Well, when it comes to 10 reviews for an album (but even 5-6, for example), I completely agree with you.
But that there are 2 or 3 in my opinion is positive if they present at least differentiated viewpoints. I mean, 2 identical reviews that give 5 stars are pointless; on the contrary, 2 or 3 that offer original perspectives are helpful, especially since I don't believe there is such a thing as beautiful or ugly a priori. So, it's useful for someone approaching an album to try to understand what its strengths and weaknesses might be.
For example, I think that many reviews on Dream Theater (a band that I absolutely adore, by the way) are perfectly superfluous (there are industrial quantities of them on Octavarium and, in the end, they just repeat the same things).
