Nonsense can be said once, but if one insists... DjMushroum brought up the Skiantos. Anyway, the Squallor are related to Elio as much as the Skiantos are. Hardly at all. It’s true that Elio's humor has to do with "cazzo, figa, culo, tette," but they create compositions like "Rap Put" or "Abitudinario" (the best chorus ever :-)), while the Squallor made "Ciao, comprati Arrapaho": it doesn't seem like the same thing to me. Moreover, there are way more ramblings in Zappa's albums than you'll find in Elio's albums... What's wrong with that? They are excellent musicians and use their skill to best portray their stories and gags. So there might be ramblings, but not ramblings for their own sake. And what the hell does politics have to do with it? Finally, it's one thing to say: I don't like them, they're boring. It's another to say: they’re four (when there are actually five plus Mangoni) Coglioni. These are people with a good brain and they know how to use it well. They might be liked or not, to each their own and all that...

And another thing: every time this nice little band is mentioned, someone brings up the Skiantos: well, I'm not about to list the obvious differences between the two groups because I would be wasting my time. I will share a little story though: in 2003, a local festival was organized that was in open opposition to the Sanremo of Toni Renis: the counter-festival, to be clear. Both Elio and the Skiantos were supposed to participate. Then, after the schedule had already been set, the Skiantos decided to withdraw. The local newspaper published the letter in which Freak Antoni and his bandmates gave the sad announcement. Well, according to them, the name Skiantos was written too small on the poster... They also complained that the commercials didn't give their participation the "right" emphasis. These guys hadn't played in twenty years and wanted to play the stars... Elio, on the other hand, performed regularly in front of an almost empty audience due to a mix-up about the start time of the event and that of the live TV broadcast (everything had been organized in a rush...). A nice demonstration of bravado against a nice demonstration of professionalism...

Always like this with Elio e le storie tese... Some love them and some hate them... I hold them in high regard...
