Alfo, surely Ligabue is not a fool; on the contrary, he is an intelligent person. He found a formula and he exploits it. No objections there. I have nothing to say even about the two or three chords he uses to make his songs. Many authors create very simple things that I find pleasant. What I contest about Ligabue is the rhetoric. I live in a small town, but I have always found the praise of the province in a "lambrusco and pop corn" style to be cloying and out of touch with reality. Moreover, his claim to speak on behalf of young people or one or more generations (his and his fans') strikes me as incredibly presumptuous in light of the banalities that come out of it ("Certain nights you make a bit of a ruckus, etc."). In fact, Ligabue almost always uses the first person plural in his songs ("It's not time for us," for example), much less the singular. This way of pulling his audience in almost every song feels more like a marketing operation than anything else. Vasco did it too in the 80s ("We are just us"), but much better than Liga. Though even Vasco lately...

@Stronko: I have the gun pointed to my temple. I've got the bandana, the tank top, and everything. I look like De Niro in "The Deer Hunter." What should I do, shoot? Ah, but I haven't made a record... Well, for today suicide is postponed... ;)) Iside, see you next time...

Far be it from me to disturb the intimacy of your tea party, I only intervene to say that your Odradek proposal is not bad: countrybluegrassfolk has always been my bread. The only flaw seems to be the formation of this Peggy, which is a bit too minimal. I understand the low tones, but giving a few kicks on the bass drum every now and then is not the same as shouting; indeed, for me it also gives a tone to the menu...

@iside: hello, good work. @alter ego: I didn't know "I Borghesi" was by Brel... The cover notes only mention Gaber as the author. Oh well. They remain dirty, full of millions, the bourgeois are all...

Apparently, there's a fellow countryman of mine on Debaser. Yesterday I couldn't go, but from what I've heard I didn't miss much. As I mentioned in a comment on a review of a previous show, last year's concert included in the Mantovamusicafestival didn't shine for its happy organization (an hour delay and terrible sound). Anyway, couldn't you and your friends get ahead of those in the stands and grab the empty central seats? And then where did they put the stands in the exedra of Palazzo Te??? I think 25 ¤ (last year 20, the extra 5 will be for Bisio) is still worth it as long as he delivers a worthy performance, preferably without sponsor interruptions...

Good job; I would have also talked about Jacques Brel's cover "Che balla gente" since, among other things, Gaber was a huge fan of his... Anyway, the reviews that connect the pleasure of music with memories are the best. Well done!!
