Hey Spartak, cheer up because Phil Miller didn't stop after that album. Maybe you're not familiar with National Health, who are like Hatfield and the North minus Richard Sinclair, but with the addition of another keyboardist (the late Alan Gowen) and John Greaves on bass. They made two albums: "National Health" and "Of Queues and Cures." And Hatfield gets together occasionally for a concert or tour. I heard a bootleg from 2004 and despite the lack of Dave Stewart, they were in splendid shape. Cheers.

Here I am, responding to everyone: @JohnofPatmos: you are really too kind!! @Odradek: I saw the Palastorchester in concert in February. I would love to review that concert but today it might feel a bit old. Their instrumental and philological expertise is great, and hearing Max Raabe introduce the pieces in his Italian is worth a good 33% of the ticket price. Maybe even 34%. I will review an album of the Palast sooner or later. @Iside: don’t be so down; you make me feel sad. @morningstar: it’s worth what I said to JohnofPatmos.;) @leonid: I started here, with The Threepenny Opera. But the albums "Ute Lemper sings Kurt Weill" are nice too. If you feel brave, there are the versions by Weill's wife, Lotte Lenya. @burns: I haven't heard her version of "Mack the Knife" but frankly, Nick Cave, with all due respect, makes my stomach churn. And the modern versions of Weill's songs that I’ve heard (including the one by the Doors) are beautiful, but if you know the originals... @Festwca: It doesn’t seem to me that there’s any challenge going on, let alone any prizes to be won. Besides, the review on Pentangle that you liked so much was as long as this one. Anyway, if you find my reviews too long, start reading, get to halfway, stop, breathe, drink something, or, if you smoke, have a cigarette, and then, if you feel ready – and I emphasize if you feel ready – continue and get to the end. As long as you want to read, to be clear.:). @Zarathustra: what I said to Festwca holds for you too. Hello everyone.

You cite too many samples and too many D.J.s for me to think that this album could appeal to me, but I really enjoyed your review!

Of this album, I only remember one video: "Tower of strength" with the Mission fighting I don't know what monster while shooting lightning from their hands. A bit cheesy, if you'll allow me... But maybe if I listened to the album, I would change my mind. I also remember them at a festival with a very pop but nice song called "Butterfly on a wheel" if I'm not mistaken... Ehh, it starts with gothic rock and then who knows where it ends up. :)

Hey Floyd, at the end of the second line of my speech: "the expressive forms you use are exhausting," not "It is the expressive forms you use that are exhausting." Better this way, right?

Look Emanuele, since we're talking about reviews of Serie A or Serie B, and about the sympathy or antipathy generated in the editors, if you allow me, I’d like to share my opinion: I found your review to be a bit heavy, and not because of its length. I’ve written some that might even be longer than yours. It’s the expressive forms you use that are tiring. "...extremely well-crafted concept album..." "a very restrained reverb on the guitar." Some are even amusing: "the secondary central theme" reminds me of what a footballer once said, "I fully agree halfway with the coach." With these premises, the length becomes an aggravating factor. Oh, let’s be clear, I don’t mean to be a know-it-all; I only pointed these things out because it was being discussed. I’ll abstain from giving a rating. Cheers.

Hey Lewis, but didn't Bregovich start handing out banknotes to the musicians? I've seen him a couple of times on TV and he always started like that... I know his albums and I would vote on trust but there are already too many trust votes... Bye!
