Saga Wildest Dreams
Voto:
Unfortunately, a misstep by Saga as they decide to further simplify the formula of the previous "Behaviour." The album is pleasant but, for me, lacking in ideas and content... even the level of virtuosity has drastically decreased. They will do a bit better with the subsequent "The Beginner's Guide To Throwing Shapes," but in my opinion, we are far from their best albums.
Paul Rodgers Muddy Water Blues: A Tribute to Muddy Waters
Voto:
Excellent voice that Paul Rodgers has... however, I believe this project interests me very little.
Public Image Limited That What Is Not

Great review... however, given the flood of negative votes, I think I'll pass. By the way, after listening to a few tracks on YouTube, they didn't really impress me that much. In any case, it's always a good idea to bring back P.I.L.!

As I mentioned in the previous review: in my opinion, this album starts to lose some ground compared to the two preceding masterpieces ("Worlds Apart" and "Heads Or Tales"), although Michael Sadler's performance is among the best of his career. Nevertheless, it remains a good quality record. The best tracks, for me, are those that maintain a certain level of complexity... "Misbehaviour" above all.
Frank Zappa Cruising With Ruben & The Jets

I had obtained it a long time ago, just out of curiosity... it was an LP rip (I believe it was the original version, since there were no digital instruments mentioned by Holdsworth in his comment). In any case, I didn't like it at all... totally outside my musical tastes. - Great review as always!
Black Sabbath Born In The Studio
Voto:
I listened to it some time ago... anyway, it's an interesting bootleg. "The Fallen" is a great track, and I don't understand why it was discarded. Many tracks actually sound better in their unmixed version (especially "Born Again" itself). Others, if I remember correctly, don't differ much ("Trashed"). - The website Black-Sabbath.com hints that a deluxe version of the album will be released in 2011/2012: they are working on a new mix.
Saga Head or Tales

While waiting (fingers crossed!) for the arrival of the first CD version from America... because the Polydor one with the two versions of "Cat Walk", in my opinion, is an insult to the ears: high frequencies cranked to the max and a total absence of those mid-range ones. - The album, among those I know, is one of the best by Saga... probably my favorite: "The Flyer", "Cat Walk", "Social Orphan", and "The Pitchman" are tracks of great quality. It's a shame that starting from the next one, "Behaviour", they'll begin to lose a bit.
Black Sabbath The Eternal Idol
Voto:
Great album, probably the best of the Martin era (although I have to admit that my judgment on the albums with Martin varies quite a bit depending on my mood!). The tracks are remarkable, thanks mostly to Bob Daisley... who may not be remembered as the king of virtuoso bassists, but as a songwriter, he's exceptional: just look at how he revitalized Uriah Heep in the early '80s, or the first solo albums of Ozzy Osbourne. - Very good review, rich in details. I'm glad to hear the news you provided in comment 8: the deluxe edition will be mine right away!
Saga Worlds Apart

River review... in my opinion, this album is among the best by Saga. It competes with the following "Heads Or Tales" and the recent "Trust." I have read very positive opinions about "Generation 13" as well, but I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet. Besides the tracks that were rightly pointed out by PierPaolo, I would also highlight the excellent closing track "No Stranger"... in my opinion, one of the best moments of the album. - Looking forward to the review of "Heads Or Tales" for another pair of 5!
Harvestman, U.S. Christmas, Minsk Hawkwind Triad

A truly... psychedelic review! This tribute album, from how you describe it, seems really interesting. By the way, not long ago, the latest from Hawkwind ("Blood Of The Earth") was released: from what little I've heard on YouTube, it seems like a decent work...
