David Bowie Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust

Absolutely amazing album... it's always a pleasure to listen to it and listen to it again!

A record that I found decidedly enjoyable, with some excellent moments. The right rating, for me, would be 3 and a half stars... but I'll round up, why not!
King Crimson Larks' Tongues in Aspic

An absolutely stunning album, although very challenging. The KC are great (as usual!)

Just heard it: spectacular... it deserves the highest score! - @vellutogrigio: as soon as I can, I’ll take a look at the other reviews on Blue Oyster - @Green Manalishi (and also all the commentators on this page): which other album do you recommend I get right after this one?

I've heard great things about this group... unfortunately, I don't know them very well. After reading your review (and also the comments above), I better get a move on to learn more!

Primiballi, I expressed myself poorly in the previous post. Obviously, I do not claim to label the entire five-year period of '85-'90: my intention was to say "the second half of their 80s"... it's true, I was imprecise. Nevertheless, while I fully respect your opinion, I remain convinced that the SM made a kind of deal with the devil to compete with U2 (with whom, by the way, until "New Gold Dream" they had practically nothing in common)... I definitely preferred them when they were semi-unknown!
Simple Minds Our Secrets Are The Same

A solid foundation for the good "Cry" that would come a couple of years later... here the SM manage to slightly better focus the ideas born from the confusing "Néapolis" (though it's worth noting a return to the massive use of electronics like in their early '80s). Notable "Jeweller To The Stars," although I prefer it in the "Black & White" version. The best of the bunch is "Swimming Towards The Sun"... the rest is average.

After the enjoyable "Cry," expectations were high for Simple Minds... this seems like a return to the simplistic and unpretentious pop of the second half of the 80s (not coincidentally, if I'm not mistaken, the producer of "Once Upon A Time" is back on this album). Fortunately, the fate of the album is somewhat lifted by the excellent "Dolphins" and "Jeweller To The Stars, part II."
Simple Minds Good News From The Next World

Maybe their worst album... a few pleasant ideas (like "She's A River") and nothing more. I won't vote because I hate to give a low score to Simple Minds. - I agree with Reverse: Mike, to listen to the real SM you should pick up something from their early 80s: listening to this album is quite misleading.
Simple Minds Real Life
Voto:
An honest album... perhaps its most obvious flaw is trying to retrace the paths of "Street Fighting Years." Nonetheless, there are a few gems here and there: the two singles released ("See The Lights" and, especially, "Let There Be Love") are on another level. Not bad also "Ghostrider" and "Banging On The Doors" - My rating would be 3 and a half. I'll round up.
