Jethro Tull Under Wraps

Antonio, of the albums you mentioned, in my opinion the best one (and one of the most beautiful by the Tull) is "Stormwatch": the third and final installment of the folk trilogy, it adds a fascinating twilight and apocalyptic aura. As I stated in my review, the instrumentals "Elegy" and "Warm Sporran" will significantly influence "The Pine Marten's Jig" found on "A" - "Too Old To Rock'n'Roll" is the one that, theoretically, comes closest to "A" in terms of pop attitude... however, at times, it is weighed down by an overly intrusive orchestra. It still contains extraordinary moments like "Quizz Kid" and "Big Dipper" - In "Roots To Branches," the Eastern influence (present on "Crest Of A Knave") is taken to extremes, resulting in mixed outcomes. The title track, the dreamlike "Another Harry's Bar," and the acoustic "Beside Myself" are excellent... surrounded by many pieces that range from decent to purely filler. - The subsequent "Dot Com" is, on the other hand, more traditional compared to "Roots..." and even more successful: there are some interesting hard-rock ideas ("Hunt By Numbers" and "El Nino"). If we really want to find a vague similarity to "Under Wraps," we can say that it is one of the few J.T. albums where the synth-drums are, albeit partially, reintroduced... synth-drums that, however, do not replace, but integrate and support the traditional ones (you can hear this quite a bit in "Wicked Windows") - I hope I've been helpful. Now I’ll pass the word to the other Tull fans...
Marillion Fugazi
Voto:
Excellent review brimming with enthusiasm. About the album: perhaps the concluding phrase <One of the greatest masterpieces in the history of progressive> is a tad excessive. In fact, if we compare "Fugazi" to the contemporary "Three Of A Perfect Pair" by King Crimson (an album, by the way, never listed among the Crimson masterpieces), the good "Fugazi" disappears into the shadows. However, since assigning ratings based on comparison is never a good thing... indeed, it often leads only to irreconcilable conflicts (better Emerson or Wakeman? better the Beatles or the Rolling Stones? Etc., etc.), I acknowledge that this is a little gem in its genre. So let it be a 5!
Renaissance Azure D'Or

Really an excellent description, both of the group and the album. I have "Novella" by Renaissance (from '77 if I'm not mistaken): is this "Azur D'Or," since it was released shortly after, similar in style?

Silian87, compliments on your choice of concert. It must have been a hassle to travel, but I think it was worth it. The Who are great as always...

@iside. I'll write it in a less cryptic way: two and a half out of 5 :-)))

I didn't mind it... the right rating is a 2.5/5 but I'll round it up to 3 for the very low average it has. "Abacab" and "Dodo" are great tracks. "Me And Sarah Jane" isn’t bad either. - Anyway, a question comes to mind: you started with "Duke" (which I like a lot) and then you went on to buy all the previous ones... but didn’t you notice that something had already changed radically?
Maurice Ravel Bolero

Review all smoke and no fire. After giving top ratings to Vasco, Negrita, and Francesco Renga (!!!) you really want us to believe that you like Ravel? What won’t one do for appearances.
