Anyway, it's a shame that when we talk about the "influence of Television," we always bring up the retrogressive groups of today... in reality, the style of Television has permeated many things from the '80s, even from lesser-known bands, on a general level... I mean to say that Television didn't found a specific genre but rather taught how to interpret pure (guitar-based) rock to the new wave generation (more stripped-down and cutting guitars, more pronounced rhythm, unpleasant vocals, no harmonies, no frills, absorption of all the various country and blues legacies that had characterized classic rock, a broken and bitter mood, and so on).
