By "morale," I was referring to the morale of the hc... the monks have nothing to do with it...

But I was talking about stylistic divergences... It's clear that the HDs were a model for the entire hardcore scene in Minneapolis, but a band can also serve as a "moral" example before being a stylistic one... The HDs kicked things off, bringing to a small town (Minneapolis) a language that, until the late '70s, was exclusive to the big metropolises (NY, LA, Frisco)... and that's already an undeniable merit. After that, once the various groups became aware of the new doctrine, they shaped it differently according to their own sensibilities...

I disagree, supersoul... the mats never created the wall of sound, they never cared about experimentation, unlike Mould who instead shaped his guitar style with the intention of creating a completely new sound (and he succeeded)... but then, excuse me: Stink is from '82, it came out the same year as Everything Falls Apart (up until that point, the HD had only released a live album)... I really struggle to see all this debt to the HD... to my ears and my neuron, Sorry Ma and Stink pay tribute to the Heartbreakers, crafting a raucous, exaggerated rock'n'roll, but without the formal research intentions that fueled Husker Du... don't you think?
