Throbbing Gristle Music From The Death Factory, The Second Annual Report

In the opening suite ("Djed"), there are even Oldfield's tubular bells! :-) Anyway, the only "Slint-ish" moment in Millions is the stunning "Glass Museum": geometric and glacial. In my opinion (Morphine aside), post-rock is made with three instruments (the ones from rock: bass, guitar, drums); it's just that they play different scores from those of rock.

For Foetus, get "Nail": it's pure madness (it's industrial only on paper; in reality, it also features Tom Waits). As for Tortoise, I've only heard "Millions," which is really a great album: it has nothing to do with post-rock, contrary to what people say; Tortoise makes kraut-rock, no doubt about it! Can + Neu = Tortoise. :-)
Dwarves Blood Guts & Pussy

No, really, they totally rock! They were reactionary like few others: back in 1990, they were still making old-school hc! But what intensity, damn it! And what titles: "Back Seat of My Car," "Let's Fuck," "Drug Store," "Insect Whore"...and so on with the absurdity! Anyway, the Cows were superior: more imaginative, more unpredictable. The Dwarves crushed stones with the rhythm section and rasped with the guitars and the vocals! Legendary, anyway.

Thank you Regular, always dear and friendly towards me... ;-) Do you prefer the English school of TG and Cabaret Voltaire, or the yankee one of Chrome, Ministry, and NIN? I opt for the Australian school of a certain J. Thirwell, aka Foetus, do you know him? Ah, there's also the Canadian school, that of Skinny Puppy... We live in a world of industrial music!!! :-DDD

a typically American sideshow phenomenon. In Italy, a group like that would have pigeons crapping on their heads. <<< Yes, because in Italy, sideshow phenomena are not well accepted...noooooo...come on, do me a favor!

Are the MOB still around??? What a story! I was still stuck on VS! (If I'm in the mood, I'll review it: it's an album I love). Maybe the first "indie-rock" band in history (along with the Wipers). Incredibly influential.

@ Philosopho: "why don’t you review 'Cabin Flounder', which is an album I adore?" <<< because I can't find it anywhere!!! :-( Anyway, thanks to everyone for the compliments! You are too kind... ;-)

Plagued by Franci (Ondarock). How frustrating! Grrrrrrr......

Fest, the TG have nothing to do with Chrome... Chrome used guitars and a rhythm section and blended them with electronics... TG just make amorphous noise... TG creates a kind of ambient music (at least on this record and except for the flaccid synth-pop of United)... TG describes the horrors of the suburbs of Manchester just like Tangerine Dream described the wonders of the cosmos: both groups create an impressionist electronic music. (You'll see that you'll like it...) ;-)
