Well... for me the first 3 Meat Puppets albums are a must (I would also add the '81 EP, In a Car: 5 tracks, 5 minutes of total duration, pure cow-punk, fantastic!)

Yessssss! They never stop, these guys... it's like a painted version of Foetus' Nail... death, house, ethnic, there's something for everyone's taste! My favorites: Exuviate (with the only melody in 70 minutes of music!) and the exciting Bosch Erotique. Anyway, great job Flo, and thanks for the mention ;-)... I told you that you (or Fest) were the right man for an album like this... It's a snack-review: tantalizing.

The topic of "indie vs major" could open up endless debates and furious arguments... anyway, I was very, veeeeery perplexed by this statement from your friend Kama: "As for the old story of the majors and the manipulated artist, honestly I believe it's more of a fairy tale from the rehearsal room than a reality. When you have the chance to work with important figures in the music world (arrangers, producers, etc…) you try to learn as much as possible, to improve, and that’s it." Well, many (I think) would have something to say about that.

Sorry Walter, but don’t you get the impression that if We are the world was followed by millions and millions of viewers around the globe, the credit should go to the advertising, the sponsors, the managers who organized the event, the television networks worldwide... in short, to everything that is called "music business," and that MJ merely played the part of the "puppet" being manipulated by the powers that be (certainly not the music!), who had every interest in giving maximum media exposure to that event... I mean, doesn’t the purely musical aspect seem a bit secondary in all this?
