I heard it today, hallelujah... I thought they would be more of a joke (maybe because of the name), but they’re dead serious...

I finally heard them! They have nothing to do with hardcore, but they're very close to the Birthday Party... and then there's Pile Driver, which sounds like a song by the Jesus Lizard!!! Great guitar.

baah...it's not my kind of stuff...I only listen to Mr. Presley, thanks...(Anus though, you know, the one from "vendetta") ;-)

I insert myself into the outdated/current debate, agreeing with both factions: some things seem aged, while others feel seminal and still modern today...the mood is that of the "summer of love" anyway, and there's no arguing about that...in any case, 5 incredible musicians... "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" are worth a career (for the JA, but especially for Grace Slick, who I find a bit annoying too, but who has given us two spine-tingling vocal performances). P.S. I didn't know she was a photo model...

ACDC are the only rock band alongside Chuck Berry and the black shouters (Little Richard and Co.) that should be venerated. <<< um... it would be Chuck Berry... with an E, not an A... but just out of curiosity, what kind of music do the Butthole Surfers make?

I also thank you all :-) @ Grass: in fact, I misspoke regarding the song structure in J. Barleycorn: I meant to highlight the fact that while in Mr. Fantasy we find eccentric compositions, full of surprises, tempo changes etc... despite their brief duration (a bit like in Barrett's Pink Floyd), in Barleycorn we have much more regular, serious, austere pieces, with generally more ordered and linear structures (a bit like in Gilmour's Pink Floyd).
