Robert Altman M.A.S.H.
Voto:
I agree on everything except the first sentence: for me, Full Metal Jacket is more grotesque than tragic, hyperrealistic rather than realistic... As for M*A*S*H, what can I say? A revolutionary film in terms of character design, the use of sound, the "fresco" structure, camera movements, and staging... Obviously, war is the focal point of the film, but it revolves around a whole series of themes related to American civilization that Altman will revisit in many of his subsequent masterpieces.

historical group, they only made this one album but it’s more than enough... of course they are not on the level of Fugazi, but they managed to place some memorable and thrilling tracks... Ian is in great shape and behind the screams, he reveals all his inspired melodic and emotional vein... it’s a shame about a drumming that doesn’t rise to the occasion and a flat production that hampers the duets between the guitars... it’s a curse that has struck the early emo-core albums (even Rites of Spring is recorded in a disgraceful way, despite being a masterpiece)

"I remember though that it was a disgusting jelly that was sold in jars looking a lot like trash bins." <<< ahahah, I had the green one! I had so much fun shooting it at the ceiling during class in elementary school! :-)))

blues from an airplain is spectacular
Marco Ferreri Dillinger E' Morto (1969)
Voto:
one of the best films in history...infinitely more relevant than many other movies of its time, because it focuses on a theme that characterizes our days: virtual reality...the review does not disappoint, considering that it is one of the most difficult films to analyze at all
Nexus Odynephobia Conversion

Italo-French? What a bizarre mix! :-))) I completely missed this one, it's beautiful...

"It is a terrible outburst, a catastrophic reaction to what is no longer voluntary silence, but a true inability to communicate. The album closes with a draining noise on the edge of a nervous breakdown, a feedback that, like a flat electrocardiogram, marks a necessary death to give life to a new existence."........"Glenn anticipates one of the central themes of Spiderland: the inability to see, to break that opaque glass that prevents one from recognizing a clear and unequivocal reality. But if the end (the truth) is unknowable, it is because of the means: consciousness. Consciousness prevents one from delving into the real, leaving one at the threshold, perhaps because the truth is intolerable, perhaps because the desire to remain unchanged despite such a revelation is even stronger." <<< jory, you really hit the mark. Congratulations. The spirit and essence of post-rock illustrated clearly and without intellectualism. You deserve a double 5. :-)

"emotions are decontextualized, observed, dissected, reworked, all in order to be better absorbed by our consciousness. Nothing is externalized, all emotional states remain confined within themselves, as if body and reason were two distinct entities lacking reciprocal correlation. Rationality becomes a defense mechanism. No longer soul, but mind." <<< yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesye syesyesyesyesyes
