Colosseum Daughter Of Time
Voto:
I'm stopped at the famous Valentyne Suite, which I listen to once a year (around June)... maybe the pinnacle of prog is that of KC, Yes, Genesis, etc... but these Colosseum had a very original way, unprecedented for the time, of approaching blues-rock: for them it was no longer the "music of the devil," dirty and lewd, but many nice little bricks to build a powerful harmonic castle... in the sense that any musical genre can be "progressivized"...

Stoner, Sludge, Drone...just the kind of music I don’t like...I’ve listened to these as well, but I just can’t get into them...
Autechre Basscad, EP

it's right to review even the lesser albums, so that Deb becomes as comprehensive a database as possible on all musical knowledge...for the record: I have never liked Autechre, but clearly, it's just not my genre...

This morning I went to the market to get some rotisserie chicken, and a stranger suggested a trade: a charred chicken wing in exchange for the D/K Trio album... well, I accepted! ;-P I'm listening to it right now while I digest the chicken: I must say it’s an album DOMINATED by our Duan and his liquefied guitar, but not entirely cleansed of the residues of the Lizard... it's "ambient" jazz, with something unhealthy: it’s as beautiful as pure atmospheric music crafted by survivors of the blazing noise season... I still don't hear the English references (Talk Talk and Bark Psychosis, maybe a little something from the early days), perhaps some Calexico, no? :-/

mmm...honestly, I'm not a fan of shoegaze...I even struggle to appreciate Slowdive, you know what I mean...so, dear vivis, if you tell me these are derivative, I'll leave them right where they are...great review anyway...especially the part where you mention those "post-wave" bands from the '80s, so different from each other like The Smiths, Echo, MBV, yet all connected by a common thread...well, more of a blue thread, I’d say, considering the heavenly sound (okay, there's quite a bit of red in Echo, though)...come on vivis!!! let's go! ;-)))

Damn...CJ + Martsch...how do those two get along? Who decides the arrangements?! :-D

Really? I thought they were a math-rock band, and instead you mention Talk Talk, Bark, June, Dirty 3... I searched for them years ago, with no luck... a bit like Randy "Biscuit" Turner’s Cargo Cult, another black beast... but where do you find this music? :-/
Jovanotti Live @ Caserta, Palamaggiò 29.04.11

but come on! you messed everything up! You shouldn't have asked her about her music tastes! Those are the most embarrassing questions! (don’t you ever blush when people ask you: ā€œwhat music do you listen to?ā€) anyway, if you want to add some killer CDs to the wedding list, we from Deb can contribute ;-) (with Jovanotti...) :-D
The Honeymoon Killers The Honeymoon Killers From Mars
Voto:
On Allmusic, they have "Honeymoon Killers from Mars"... I listen to them every now and then, but I don't have this album... they're just a tiny bit less assholes than Pussy Galore ;-)

I'm also stuck at Passage... the Swiss metal scene is beautiful anyway, especially the historic Celtic Frost...
