Nirvana Nevermind
Voto:
The most important album by Nirvana and one of the cornerstones of the '90s grunge scene. This time the budget is sky-high, but Nirvana do not yield to the temptations of the market: anger, strength, fighting spirit, fire burning in the soul—these are the main components of a historic band that managed to find perfection not through great technical skill but especially through a ruthless and almost machine-like technique with which they shoot notes after notes at the speed of light, where every sound is never truly an end in itself: Cobain is at his historical peak, with an incredibly acid guitar, a harsh voice that is simultaneously tender, fragile yet powerful. Memorable tracks: from the very first "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to the eclectic highs of "Polly," leading to "Come As You Are." An epic record capable of dividing the history of rock into before and after. Sure, I Love Music will say no, but who cares, he only likes Frank Zappa. He’s limited, no one is perfect. In fact, I Love Music is nobody. It’s not that I'm much more, but compared to him, I'm not coming off too badly... Marco Poletti Dixit.
Nirvana MTV Unplugged In New York
Voto:
A few months after Cobain's death, the MTV concert tapes are released. Great things are expected, and indeed they will be: 14 touching and surprising songs, at times rock and even a few acoustic tracks. They impress, and this elevates them to a pedestal: an essential live performance that demonstrates the greatness of this band and reminds, as I've been saying for years, that Nirvana without Cobain are practically nothing. Marco Poletti Dixit.

A Nirvana live without Kurt Cobain? Well, we'll see... But without Cobain, I mean since 1992, the Nirvana are little or nothing. Marco Poletti says.
Nirvana Incesticide

A collection of minor pieces, interesting but not essential. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Nirvana In Utero

Essentially the follow-up to "Nevermind." The same high musical quality, the same immense almost punk power. Kurt Cobain is certainly wiser and less rough, more grown-up, but that doesn't mean he's better: he's always been harmonious and brazen (and will always be), but perhaps now he's a bit more calculating and less spontaneous. However things may be, some tracks are truly beautiful and memorable: "Heart Shaped Box," "Rape Me," "All Apologies," just to name a few. Kurt Cobain's last album: a finale that may be a bit too ruthless, but certainly sublimely eclectic. The cover artwork is wonderful, a memorable piece of an unforgettable puzzle. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Nirvana Hormoaning

Calm down, calm down... But what is this record? Because, does it really exist? Marco Poletti Dixit.
Nirvana From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah
Voto:
A sort of fragmented greatest-hits, and if I may say so, even a bit gloomy. Some interesting live tracks, a bit of gratuitous triumphalism, certainly a musical rendering that is more than sufficient. But these are not the true Nirvana. Marco Poletti Dixit.

Made with 600 dollars, incredible, don't you think? The first album by Nirvana, not stylistically perfect, is nonetheless a great work: some tracks will go down in history ("Blew," "About a Girl"), the covers are completely wild ("Love Buzz"), and the rhythm is frenetic to the core. An album that should largely be credited to Kurt Cobain, the true leader of Nirvana. Crazy music, absolutely rebellious, great musical insights, beautiful musical renditions. Something to memorize, and to never forget. Marco Poletti Dixit.
