Down with the rating "the other albums are two" but what the hell are you saying...the latest "Super Extra Gravity" is essential and definitely fresh, the one before that is a half masterpiece...come on, please.

But look, their last two works are beautiful, better than this compilation of hits. They are a mature band with an interesting creative journey; the desire to innovate is a plus, not a flaw.
Mike Oldfield Music of the Spheres
Voto:
More than thirty years of redoing "Tubular Bells" is a bit of a joke... Oldfield in '78 was doing something completely different, "Incantations," and in '79 as well, "Platinum"... just because it's instrumental doesn't mean it's necessarily a callback to the work of '73. Oldfield should be criticized for much of the production between '83 and '90, works made to sell like "Discovery" (wonderful though "The Lake" is) and "Islands." In the '90s, he recorded the continuations of "Tubular Bells," "II," "III," and "Millennium," and frankly, he could have skipped those; it's just a display of his enormous instrumental talent. But works like "The Songs Of Distant...", "Guitars," and "The Voyager" are very beautiful.

Wakeman was bulky, I’m not saying it, it’s a fact. His stunning stage presence became unbearable for everyone at some point during that time; they had to slim down first with Downes and then with Kaye. Then Wakeman recently claimed that he would have liked to record "90125"...
Pink Floyd The Final Cut

"...excuse me, where is the bar?"...a beautiful, poignant album, a fresco of a soul deeply torn by the consequences of war. Nevertheless, it's not a Floyd album.

His "Group Photo with Lady" is exceptional, maybe that's his greatest masterpiece...but "And He Didn’t Say a Word" is also a great book.
Andrew Stanton Wall-E

Beautiful, the first part well...references silent cinema and the slapstick comedy of Keaton and Laurel & Hardy. A lovely film for both adults and children, a tribute also, deep down, to true human civilization.

Picked up on vinyl (5 euros)...beautiful, the title track with its arena opening is stunning, great use of electronic drums. A different album from the first, here there’s perhaps more experimentation, a result of "Drama"; it’s a shame the duo stopped afterwards, but in this album Horn and Downes anticipate the revived Yes of "90125".
Woody Allen Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Voto:
I haven't seen it yet... "Scoop" was written for Johansson and it's a nice and fun movie that fully falls into Allen's "minor" films. It certainly doesn't claim to be a fundamental masterpiece, especially since Woody loves to have fun with cinema and knows how to do it well.
