Duran Duran Big Thing
Voto:
They have never been a boy band, but a band tarnished by a ridiculous label in a time that was ridiculous in many ways. This, after "Rio," is their best work.

3 films for a historical period, the years of the Iron Lady: "The Full Monty," "Billy Elliot," and "Thank You, Mrs. Thatcher."

Well... between "Rosanna" and "Africa" there’s almost a total void for me.
Franco Battiato La voce del padrone
Voto:
I don't love Battiato much, he's a bit too sterile for me. Those who want to immerse themselves in this period of Italian music from '80 to '82 must listen to "Milva E Dintorni," a work by Battiato-Pio featuring Milva's voice, and then absolutely "Capo Nord" by Alice, which is absolutely surprising and brilliant.
The Corrs In Blue

Their most sold album, probably, always featured "Breathless" on the radio. Very simple pop, did they do anything else after that? I only remember the pregnant drummer playing the drums sitting sideways in Genoa.
Oriana Fallaci Se Il Sole Muore

It's true, the anecdote about Conrad not wanting Oriana to touch the moon rock is mentioned in "Lettere A Un Bambino Mai Nato," however, it seems to me that Conrad left a photo of Oriana as a child on the moon.
Oriana Fallaci Se Il Sole Muore

There are at least two phases in Fallaci's work, a pre-Vietnam one and a post-Vietnam one. Very roughly, the first part concludes with "Se Il Sole Muore" in which Oriana describes the beauty of her American friends, while the second begins with the terrible first chapter of "Niente e Così Sia" in which Fallaci recounts one of the lowest and most vile moments in U.S. history.

I am indeed not a politician but a biologist... and I am tired of reading nonsense on this page.

What a fuss… I expected it. But no one commented on the book; most just spewed nonsense they picked up on the way, like regurgitations of a putrid politics. Shame! You’re just part of that public opinion built on the ideas of others, and the comments on this text prove it since none of you commented on the book at all, but most of you limited yourselves to spouting four nonsense phrases heard from the left or the right. Read a bit of "Un Uomo," "Niente e oosì sia" first; I wanted to review a text by Oriana Fallaci to uncover the ignorance that envelops the people of this damned country, who never loved her because she wasn't politicized and, above all, because she was uncomfortable. I could have reviewed one of her much more "incendiary" texts, but instead, I opted for a magnificent book that I thought would be judged for what it is: a beautiful and real snapshot of a historical period; instead, I read the usual banal clichés.
Giacomo Sebastiano Pedersoli Il disastro del Gleno - 1923, un "Vajont" dimenticato

As for the saddle of Bric Zerbino (Molare Al), the main dam is still standing and is difficult to reach; the dam that failed was the containment one on the opposite side of the mountain. This no longer exists, and its collapse also resulted in the disappearance of the hydroelectric plant downstream.
