Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai G3 - Live In Concert

But in real life, I know that (sometimes, not often) it happens to him... but try to play while moving around and running from one side of the stage to the other for 2 hours... imagine the dizziness! Then, he never seemed that interested in playing precisely live... as for fingerpicking, it’s true he hardly ever uses it, but that doesn’t mean he can’t do it, even though it’s true that technically he has evolved less than one might have expected...

I know well that there are (unfortunately) no rules regarding the right-hand technique for electric guitar, and (alas) because of this, it is an instrument destined to remain in limbo, completely ignored in conservatories and (TOO LITTLE) considered in music academies... but someone who picks with their forearm CANNOT pick well, I’m sorry, but this seems obvious to me... they might play 500 notes in a second (one thing is technique, another is speed: I didn’t talk about speed, I said CREATING SOLOS) but those are poorly played notes! You can't understand anything when that person plays; aside from the whole malmsteen-not malmsteen debate, I consider even a guitarist who plays 4 notes a minute to be better than fareri... but at least they play them well...

Malmsteen can't do great arpeggios?! Maybe you mean great (?!) sweeps: look, that's NOT at all the same thing... oh well, I guess I know NOTHING about guitar... Malmsteen often loses the beat?! Okay, tell me where... but try to speak with UNDERSTANDING this time, please, otherwise, best regards.

Look, I never judge without knowing; it's you who, besides being a (real) boor, spits out judgments without understanding! I've seen those videos a long time ago; you don't need to give me a lesson on what he does and doesn't do...after all, if you say that a guitarist is technical who strums with his forearm instead of his wrist...we're off to a good start...
Yngwie Malmsteen Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra

well, it might not be his best album but the live version is stunning

Sorry, but I absolutely disagree with you. Then, technically, it’s a disaster, so I don’t think it should even be considered.

momo ran, those you mentioned don't make music, they make noise... there’s no need to take 30 exams in arts theory to realize that... ytsejam, you say we have the artistic sensitivity of a melted amoeba... Well... you who know well what artistic sensitivity is, HOW CAN YOU judge that of others based on so little???? By the way, I never said that Johnson is awful, he just doesn't play that kind of G3 rock (like Fripp, by the way) and his presence isn’t utilized as it should be.

Right, Zarathustra, you really are a philosopher :-)

The revolution that Hendrix brought to playing the electric guitar has not been done by anyone else, that's why I say "the greatest."

I agree with jettojet that Yngwie hasn't renewed himself enough over the years... even though for me albums like Fire and Ice, Inspiration, and also the DVD with the orchestra represent excellent work guitar-wise (not just from a technical standpoint)!
