"In February 2002, I decided to treat myself to a nice big disc for my birthday [...] this amounts to the considerable expense of L. 49.900." But in February 2002, I believe payments were already being made in Euros...

Tapping is much older: Steve Hackett was already using it in songs like The Return Of The Giant Hogweed from the Genesis album "Nursery Cryme" in 1971. I couldn't tell you who invented it. Eruption is from the self-titled Van Halen album in 1978, so he certainly didn't invent it, but he is the one who made it famous. Here we were discussing a part of a song that I believe is tapping, but others don't. Haha!

Maybe I didn't explain myself well, but (and here de gustibus rules) I prefer the early Kraftwerk, the ones up to Ralf und Florian, and that was my personal opinion. @lemuro: I think by passing through the basic impulse of Kraftwerk, we arrived at new wave, '80s electropop, MTV, etc. Then if I’m talking nonsense, correct me! @under: I am aware of what electronic music is and I know well that it shouldn't be confused with kraut, and I don’t consider it an inferior genre, since I’ve recently become a big admirer of Brian Eno. And I’m glad there are people like you who appreciate electronic music. I only said that I don't like how Kraftwerk has approached it starting from this album.

I find that this album marks the end of the interesting period for Kraftwerk. From here on, unfortunately, they abandon the more "Kraut" experimentation. In my opinion, they are the ones who contributed to making music the ugliness it is today with albums like The Man Machine or Radioactivity. There is very little that can be saved from this album.
