Finally, someone who reviews "forgotten" albums, despite their beauty. This one by Neil Young is absolutely splendid, and only a critic intent on quietly revisiting the known could overlook it. The reviewer rightly cited David Bowie's definition of "majestic and sparse," as he declared to have been very influenced by this record. It is precisely these baroque yet essential arrangements that give the album a flavor of uniqueness within the broad discography of the Canadian artist. The old laughing Lady is a marvelous song. As for The last trip to tulsa, there’s little to say; in my opinion, even Dylan couldn’t convey the alienation of certain youth in those years with such vivid and desperate imagery. I also agree that it is superior to "The End." It’s one thing to say "This is the end/ beautiful friend, this is the end / my only friend." What imagination, guys! Neil, on the other hand, never uses banal words.
