I, on the other hand, prefer Kraftwerk :)

Well, in my opinion, it's a bit of a joke. Back then, I listened to 33 out of 99 (I only found those online) and tossed them shortly after. I wouldn't call them original, and the same goes for OV. Naked City are clearly on another level.

I correct myself: it would be NICE if it disappeared from DeB.

Copied from here: 404 - File or directory not found. People like De-Cano would be better off disappearing from DeB. Thanks.

To the songs mentioned by alessioIRIDE (which, while beautiful, are among the most ordinary they've done, therefore not very representative), I would add "Antitoxidote" on Eggnog (pigs don't let it nononono! stunning) and "It's Shoved" on Bullhead (from which Nirvana took the bass line for a piece of In Utero) that is already quite a bit weirder.

Joe Preston has only played on Lysol, here as usual on bass is Lorax. The EP is stunning and features one of their catchiest regular songs, "ANTITOXIDOTE: Pigs Don't Let It." The main course is the monster doom Sabbath-like crushing finale, on par with the titans Boris (on Bullhead) and Hung Bunny/RomanDogBird (on Lysol).

The story of the cover is more or less this: Lysol was a trademark protected by copyright, so only the first copies had the text on the cover; then they had to remove it and rename the album (which, as far as I know, is now simply called "Melvins").

OK, I was saying just to say. To be honest, Gluey Porch Treatments and Ozma are among those I like the least. Also, if you’re not into doom and everything else, that's perfectly fine. It's just that the Melvins seem like a good starting point to get you into the genre and dive into the splendid world of slow-psycho-riff. As for the iridescence, I highly recommend Houdini, and then this one. Regarding the speed, the Melvins have really done everything and more. The ultra-slow period is the one that leads to the reviewed Lysol (a real turtle). Then in the following two albums, Houdini and Stoner Witch (both beautiful and I wholeheartedly recommend), thanks to the switch to a major label, they moved to more humanly paced compositions.
